PRINCE MICHAEL JACKSON???????

Can someone tell me why MJ named his kid PRINCE? Looking at that kid (though the veil and all), I can't see him having any moves of either his namesake, or his father (did I say daddy???).

hmm shrug disbelief

Well, according to info floating on the net, Katherine Jackson's father was named Prince. How that NEVER came up in the 80's when there was so much rivalry between Michael and Prince is beyond me. And to be honest, I'd still like to see a birth certificate, cause I still don't buy it.

Named after Michaels Grandfather, Prince Albert Scruse.

Scruse Me? LOL, I couldn't help that one. Poor kid will have serious issues if he can't sing a note or play an instrument.

i'll wouldn't mind naming my son after P and he wouldn't have to play an instrument or anything unless he wanted to...

Look how much people "demand" of celebrities. I'm sure a kid whose name is "Prince Rodriquez or Thomas Jackson," wouldn't have any undue pressure. However, PRINCE MICHAEL JACKSON. Huge shoes to wear. Especially if the kid turns out nerdy, lol.

lol!!! i would just use prince and then the middle name would be after my father's first name. i know prince use to get made fun of when he was a kid because of his name, i think he has made it easier for other kids who are named after him because they are named after a multitalented legend. Other kids may not think its cool though, kids can be cruel, but i'll teach mine to have a lot of confidence in themselves..and their name, then they could learn how to kick ass!!!
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Actually, I bet it's worse to be named Prince these days than it was before P hit it big. Most people still think he's weird-- which he is in a good way. wink

^^Yep, both of his sons are named Prince Michael. That to me is more weird than naming your kid after your competition. Didn't George Foreman name all of his sons George? Damn, how hard is it to just say "no" to drugs?

OK so I'm a big Prince fan and MJ names his first son Prince. A little weird. Then I have a son and name him Paris. Then a year or two later, maybe not even that MJ has a daughter and names her Paris! Weird!

At this point, I think it's a waste of time trying to understand why MJ does anything. I just wish the best for those kids. I saw George Lopez on the Sharon Osborne show. It was sad but funny when he joked about the kids showing up to a job interveiw with a Spiderman mask on.

I thought someone on this site pointed out a while back that *Prince...* is just the child's public name. The name on the birth certificate is Michael Joe Jackson Jr...or something like that.

Yes, I read on msnbc that his kids names are:
Prince Michael Jackson, (is Paris the girl's name?) and
Prince Michael Jackson II (nicknamed "Blanket")

I don't know which is more retarded. Naming BOTH of your kids Prince MJ or nicknaming the second one "Blanket". On a related note, anyone see the "Mr. Jefferson" episode on South Park? Makes you feel sorry for blanket.. lol, funny as hell tho.

He had two children with Debbie Rowe, Prince Michael Jackson Jr. (the oldest), Paris Michael Katherine Jackson was born a year later, and the baby who was hung over the balcony was Prince Michael Jackson Jr. Two, also known as "Blanket"

I dont think the names have anything to do with Prince or Michael's grandfather.
Its a royalty thing. Michael is the "King" of pop so therefore his sons are princes

That is weird that through the whole 80's thing of Prince vs. Michael it never came up that MJ's grandpa was also named Prince.
Hmmmm. I remember after it came out that MJ named his first son Prince, a reporter asked him if he named him after Prince, the musician.
Michael may say he named them after his grandfather, but he's such a liar I bet he did name them after OUR Prince, which is probably the healthiest and sanest thing he has ever done for them.

ROYAL??? I'm sorry. The hype over Michael has long time ago been buried. He got his claim to fame with Thriller, but that's about it. Unless you count weird, retarded, and some other things I'd rather not say in mixed company. The man is past weird. We just want to see what's gonna happen with his ass next. He'll never have success again. He can't come back from where he is EVER! So, he is not the King of Anything. Ergo, his son(s) can't be Princes, his daughter can't be a princess, etc., etc., etc.

Now, our Prince is one by name and birth rite. Figure it out.

I think CRYSTALBALL was referring to Michael Jackson's *self-proclaimed* title as "King of Pop", and that's why he called his son Prince.

I wouldn´t be so sure that these are the real names. I also saw the divorce papers of Mike and Debbie and there was written Michael Joe Jackson junior. I believe Prince is a nickname. And as for the Blanket´s name. I don´t buy that either. I think he´s just trying to fool the public to protect them. I also don´t buy him saying that he doesn´t know Blanket´s mother. Cause first he said he knew her and than he said he didn´t. And if you watch that footage once again closely, you´d see that MJ was evidently lying when talking about having an unknown surrogate mother. He wouldn´t look into Bashir´s eyes (while the rest of the time he was looking quite hard), his voice shivered and and scratched his cheeks - all signs of lying! I think he knows her damn well, he´s just protecting her as well. To be honest I wouldn´t be even suprised if he was married. Janet was married for 10 years without anyone knowing it. He was married to Lisa Marie for 2 months without anyone knowing it (who knows how long we wouldn´t know if the judge didn´t reveal that), we found out about Debbie when she was 5 or so months pregnant and about Blanket when he was almost 1 years old. As you can see he´s getting better with keeping things secrets, that´s why I wouldn´t be shocked if he was married to the mother of Blanket - whoever it is. I am not saying I believe he is married, but I just wouldn´t be shocked if he was. I wouldn´t underestimate him in this way.

Back to the subject for a minute: Well, if "Prince" is the kid's nickname, don't u think that strange? I do. Sort of like J-lo naming one of her kids "Ben" or something, lol.

Haven´t you already gotten used to Mike doing things differently? Who cares!!?? Personally, I´ve heard of even weirder names and nicknames...
