Does Prince come here and talk to you? Yeah, didn't think so. Prince is too busy making boring music that alienated most of his fans pre-dating 1984 and what is left is this post 1990 Prince lover org. Some of us are here to talk about the Prince that could make music. Kind of like a 100 other artists out there that used to, but lost it. Prince isn't so unusual that way.

Ask Prince what Possessed means. Its the title to one of his songs, therefore that is what explains the title of the book. A great song by the way, you should listen to it.

Someone else might know for sure, but I think it was a B-side in his earlier years. I could be wrong. However, rent the video Purple Rain Live, which is a live concert. GREAT, except the sound quality sucks. I went to the concert, and I dig watching it every now and then to remembe when. And BTW, this concert video isn't a bootleg.

Its on the Live VHS from the tour. The book gives no indication as to why he chose the title "Possessed" but I can bet its a personal joke between the two. Like "What possessed you to scare/attack Uptown, Controversy & The Prince Family" ?

i hope alex doesnt take the typical manically defensive words of many orgers to heart. they dont like anyone that says anything remotely negative about prince, or anything that so much as challenges what he does. i havent read the book yet, but would like to, even though the cover pic design is quite terrible. fans should know that scrutiny and critique can be good for an artist.

I don't have any problem with the book's title if it encompasses the period from Purple Rain to early 2000s. It was a rise and fall. Wasn't it? I agree. There would be no talk of a "comeback" had there not been a fall out of the mainstream. It's marketing. Big deal. I read the book, and I thought there was a lot of interesting information. I also understand there are 671 viewpoints to every story, and take that into account when reading any biography. exactly.

i think its funny that people are trying to say princes 90s music or rather, his album output, was as good as the 80s stuff. not even uptown would say that. the music DID change and so did the quality. this revisionism is what i would expect over at npgmc.
