JIMI HENDRIX Tribute album out on Tuesday, May 4

I hadn't seen this mentioned - The Power of Soul tribute album to Jimi is out on May 4. Prince is on it doing a version of 'Red House' he calls, 'Purple House'. There is a clip at the CDNOW site.

Lenny's on it too, as is Sting, P Funk, Robert Randolph, Chaka Khan,
Earth wind and fire, RObert Johnson(also doing Red house) and Stevie Ray Vaughn.

(For a sneak peek at the album cover, check it out at the official online Hendrix shop: http://www.authentichendr...52-001-011 - Anx)

Cool! Let's hope it's the version where he jokes about Jerome Benton's purple Cadillac!

I'm at work without a soundcard. Is Purple House a live version, or studio?

Exactly right. Would love to see Prince redo Purple Haze. Have the "Shockadelica" guitar tone on it.

Oh, if Jimi Hendrix were still with us, he and Prince would collaborate.

It would be mind-blowing

How come everyone here is talking about Stevie Ray Vaughn as if he was still alive? Of course he's not kicking anything anymore. He died in a plane crash like 14 years ago :p The track on this compilation is obviously not newly recorded.
