**THE OFFICIAL (great?) ORG SCAN CHALLENGE** (so far, a complete flop) Ok, so the proverbial glove has been thrown down, and the challenge set.
Marika (dothejump) mentioned in one of the last posts on jepman's thread about how she was interested in seeing new pix here on the org. This got me 2 thinking, the org HAS been somewhat lazy in this area - and u HAVE relied on HQ 4 a lot of the stuff. Which is ok on one hand, but u need 2 do some work too! So...what I am proposing is that this thread (and dothejump's thread) is 4 your OWN SCANNED photos. Not pix that have been generally seen before - and certainly nothing from other sites that can be easily found: WAAAAY too easy! So get rifling thru all your old magazines, scrapbooks etc and see what u can surprise the Org and everyone else with - who knows, maybe u have some pix u took at a gig that u could upload. This isnt about namechecks, or anything like that - just sharing some damned fine piccys! As I dont have a scanner, I can only offer a few unseen screencaps I did sometime back - but Im sure many of u out there DO have scanners - so c'mon, lets get in the habit of actually using them! I think this is one of HQ's main gripes, and I can totally see there point. Im sure there is a wealth of material out there in boxes in your attics and rooms etc that could make it online! There will be a prize of the following 2 what Marika and I deem the best effort posted here - a mint condition copy of 'The Year of The Prince' book (printed in 1984, and now long out of print) Please try and keep the sizes of your picture posts reasonble tho 4 those on dial-up. So remember - no 'net' pix, just your scanned stuff here and... (dare I say it!) NO WATERMARKS PLEASE PEOPLE!!! This also goes 4 hotlinking - that isnt fair on anyone, and prevents others from sharing in viewing the pix. So play fair. Otherwise, I'll remove the links. Get sharing. *a dothejump edit!* [This message was edited Sat Apr 24 5:45:51 2004 by bananacologne] *prize edit* [This message was edited Mon Apr 26 2:06:42 2004 by bananacologne] [This message was edited Thu Apr 29 1:32:04 2004 by bananacologne]

Serveitupfrankie says: The Gemini Syndrome Experiment will open it's archives for all to explore.
Something that was on the "To Do..." list and I finally got around "to doing it." I'm thinking June 7th for obvious reasons. Peace, Serveitupfrankie* Non-Linear Reality

Your thread wins BC
So I post my original message (http://www.prince.org/msg/7/90954) here again: As a lot of you are pro sharing and against watermarks, I officially open the Prince scan challenge. Look up those scrapbooks and magazines and scan the interesting pics. There is no need to post pics we have seen a thousand times. If I see that a lot of interesting pics are posted in the near future, I am prepared to skip the tiny little HQ watermark in the bottom corner of my scans. (Although the watermarks are also placed to protect my own little piece of webspace) (BTW those who contribute nice pics to the online Prince community know who they are and shouldn't feel challenged or attacked in any way) Marika (Parade at Housequake) This pic comes from the French book "Un Funk Venu d'Ailleurs" [This message was edited Sat Apr 24 12:54:57 2004 by dothejump] [This message was edited Sat Apr 24 12:56:48 2004 by dothejump] Formerly known as Parade @ HQ and formerly proud owner of www.paradetour.com
