I like MJ-but my main problem with him (besides the little boys) is this- He is the godfather of lip syncing. You ever see him dance and sing with out overdubbed lyrics?? It sounds like crap. Like I can really believe that he is singing "Thriller" live through a werewolf/cat mask.

Also, you ever see the NYC 30th anniversary celebration? When MJ sings he covers his mouth all weird with his hand???? What's the deal with that? Oh well. At least it was fun seeing him do the "billie jean" routine the exact same way he has always done it since 1983 good change of pace. Cough Cough.

Well for someone with such an 'eye' for detail you sure missed a biggie on one of your 'quotes of detail' - If you'd of looked closer you'd of seen it wasn't even MJ singing/dancing with the werewolf mask on at the end part of Thriller - it was a double fool!!

as for the 30th Anniversery
MJ was Having Mic Troubles
it was a live orchestra nearly impossible to lip sync
maybe he did i dunno but its hihly unlikely
as for the thriller thing
ur really a fawkin moron
even i knew that was a damn Double lol
you can tell by the way he danced lol
it was sloppy lol

ive seen lotsa clips of prince dancing with woman but its not the same as dancing with chorus of people doing moves in unision like mj and usheri think prince is a good mover but dancer hmm it dont seem to me hes even interested in being known as a dancer rather he concentrates on the music side u know playing instruments and singing live

That's called individuality!!!!!No ,I'm glad to see he's not known primarily for his dancing as that would be outrageous.....dance however only comes naturally in response to the wonders he acheives in his music....and how else to display that than by dancing with a woman-what I would'nt give to have one dance!!!!!

I believe he would say that usher being 24 and Prince being 45 that now usher is a better dancer now but in there primes no. Perhaps neither would treat it a childish competition and just accept they were both good in there own rights.

no no no, When Usher's dancing he immitates MJ moves and he adds little original moves. When Prince is dancing he is addding some j brown moves 2 his own original style.
Besides the j.brown moves prince has got his own style!!!!
Usher is a MJ copy . In 2050 nobody knows Usher!!!!! But Prince and MJ will still be known.
U know why????.....No..... cause then u wouldn't have guessed.
Maby in time you'll know!! I GUESS??.....

Last year people voted billie jean, black or white and beat it in the top 100 best songs ever...and mj is the only one with 3 songs in it! And just to remind you those 3 songs are written by him! Mike is the artist of the millenium! Its not just me whose saying it! Its bambi awards,AMA and World Music Awards

I had an usher show me to my seat at the Prince concert - she had very fluid movements for a 60-year-old lady.

Who do you think is the more fluid and smooth dancer live?

two different styles. usher is better at choreography. he's really good at that. i think prince has it overall on natural ability and spontaneity.

I think out of all the responses to this thread, this one hits dead on. Usher is choreographed. His dances doesn't seem to come natural. It's one of those group dance, "Fame" kind of style. It just doesn't seem to be spontaneous like a James Brown or MJ. I think MJ dances were often choreographed. I prefer Prince who, in my opinion, dances quite naturally. The added gymnastics adds a certain unique quality. So while everyone's trying to 'be like Mike,' no one can really imitate P's style because it's so unique. Did I mention, P likes to change up every once in a while? I think MJ's dancing has become boring and bland. It's the same shit for the last 25+ years. I mean, how many times can one do the moonwalk? How many times can one spin around and end up on their toes? So what!!! It's boring now; it's not fluid or dynamic. Usher's moves are just mechanic and static.

I agree that he's not a dancer. I also agree that he doesn't do the theatrical flips, jumping splits and spins anymore. But you gotta admit: apart from the James Brown imitations, P has done some very unique and unusual forms of dances. I don't agree that he's stopped dancing altogether, but he has stopped doing the more physical stuff...he is almost 46. That's not old, but hell, I'm 33 and I can't even bend over half the time even though I am pretty active. LOL!

Prince has moves, but he's not a dancer.

It depends on what you mean by 'dancer'. James Brown had great moves, but he technically isn't a dancer. Funny thing is he learned a lot of it from being a boxer. The point I am trying to make is that Prince throws out moves however he feels the music. He does whatever works for him at the moment. Michael is more choreographed, and skilled in his own right. Just different style. His Moonwalker video is a prime example.

Prince's style is unique. How many cats out there were doing splits ala JB, pirouettes and making it look cool? Brotha threw out some nice moves in Sign of The Times video. If that aint dancing.....
