It's apples and oranges....performers and musicians. Madonna, Britney Spears, Michael Jackson, all performers. James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Prince, they're musicians. You won't find Prince lipsynching so he can dance in time with a bunch of faggy back-up dancers, and you won't find usher trying to pick up an axe or produce his own music. They're different breeds. However, if ANYONE doubts P's moves, just check out an '88 performance of Housequake. In his day he could glide, bust a split with a guitar on his back, and be back at the mike with enough time to brush his teeth. Prince has to be one of the best musicians that danced of all time. Usher goddamn well better be able to dance, since he doesn't have much else going for him. what u talkin about? I've personally seen usher play a mean tambourine UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN GRADUATE!

I would defo say that Prince is one of the best song writers there has been as good as anyone else. If I was asked my favorite dancer Prince is my 1st choice by a long way. I think to a certain degree the other dancers mentioned (JB not included),there dancing can be taught ,but imagine some1 trying to do that thing P does on SOTT Housequake when he pushes himself on his backwith his heals and works it into the splits,or even when he does that kick and spin thing at the end of the When Doves Cry vid,its fuckin difficult( Iknow I've tried) I feel I can imitate MJ's dancing fairly easily but P's is much more difficult.
As for not being rated at the best at anything, I cant name any1 individual that everyone agree's is the best,I've been on guitar websites and Jimi has been torn to shreds, steve vai has ,because people like different things. difference between gymnastics and dancing.....prince does more gymnastics Ye as well as, thats what makes his dancing a little different,he does the body poppin shit a little aswell ,but apart from spins he's different to the other guys there a little more grounded, not thats a negative thing its just I find what P does explosive ,obviously less so now.

Also, you ever see the NYC 30th anniversary celebration? When MJ sings he covers his mouth all weird with his hand???? What's the deal with that? Oh well. At least it was fun seeing him do the "billie jean" routine the exact same way he has always done it since 1983 good change of pace. Cough Cough. Well that means you havent seen 30th ann. of MJ which was 100% live... Thats why everybody respects MJ coz he is both a musician and performer-entertainer Take Britney for example she is an ok entertainer but she is talentless when it comes to music creating! Take Prince: he is a great musician but not a good entertainer really. MJ: Has written the greatest pop-rock-soul songs ever and is the best performer ever! He is like the God on stage!

This is a dumbass question - obviously if Usher is doing a bunch of acrobatic bullshit & more traditional hip hop (if that makes any sense ) type choreographed sequences, he's "better"...
Prince can dance but his shit is his own - unique, outside of a "step" here & there... no ultra choreographed acrobatics anymore. He's retired all the sliding & jumping off pianos & splits & shit. Back in the day it would have been P just for the sheer diversity of what he can/could do w/ his body, but if we're talking about NOW it's obviously Usher

As for your comments about Prince's entertainment skills (Removed cause i'm embarrassed to have them repeated on my reply) I take it you've not seen a Prince gig in the flesh, he's an awesome entertainer. He doesn't need jetpacks and rocket ships crashing through the stage to entertain, his musicianship speaks for itself. I've never experienced humour at a MJ gig. I have at Prince's. Michael should have kept it real like he did on the Victory and Bad Tours. The lip synching on the Dangerous and History tours got out of hand. Mike needs to put his dancing shoes away and sit his ass on a stool and sing in an intimate audience setting. Everybody knows he can. Sadly, It's always been a case of 'Bigger is better' for him and he probably never will. Besides he's not going to be doing any of that this year though is he? Anway, back on topic, well, this is a stupid topic basically, so no comment. . [This message was edited Sat Apr 24 1:48:43 2004 by Marrk]

Who's the better pianist- Thelonious Monk or Justin Timberlake? Well, Monk is an adult who tries to play like a child, and Timberflake is a child who might try to play like an adult. It's a close one. (jk!)

The one thing I'd say about alot of Prince luvin folk on here and thats its most are open minded but also realistic,I feel in a position that I've seen MJ ,Usher,Timberlake and the more reclusive Prince and perhaps his skills arent so evident but once you discover them there aint no goin back.Sorry buddy but by saying that MJ and Usher would wipe the floor with Prince in a dancing respect it just suggests that you either A.havent seen enough of Prince or B.You like the attention of claiming he is average or worse than mainstream dancers on a Prince web site.

Ok, I think this can be summed up by stating that whilst Usher and MJ may be better than Prince at certain things, Prince smokes the two of them overall. Totally and utterly,
Actually I'll give you MJ, he's good, but Usher is a wee prick “If I can shoot rabbits/then I can shoot fascists”

Youre comparing apples and oranges. While Usher has more structured dancing, and more of dance moves, Prince feels the music and is more original...I think they are both good dancers, it just depends how u look at it "Too much freedom can lead to the soul's decay"

Well it depends on the type of apple or orange, I disliike some apples mainlys red they are a little dry on occasions rather pourous, oranges on the other hand are real tasty inless you get a sour one ,its something to be considered.
