Prince is a great dancer. He just isn't choreographed (much). And the times he's tried it, he's not very good at it. (Thieves In The Temple, etc.).


Usher is a great dancer. He just needs to be choreographed. The times I've seen him wing it and try to improvise, it was just crap.

Well in my opinion Prince is not a dance master, granted he can tear up the floor when he wants to now but all in all I would much rather see "P" pick up the axe or sit at the piano or any other thing on stage, albeit prince is a musician point blank and his shows focus on playing and jamming, the dancing and splits and he does or use to do is just extra sparkle to the show as a whole.

Usher, well in short if he just stands and holds a mic in his hand and sings there isn't much of a show now is there.
He has to add something to it so he dances, he has to add something to it to make a show interesting.

Again "P" could just walk around and play his ass off and blow a crowd away

well phuck I admit I didn't see him live for the first time until 1998 when he came to my home town and let me tell you something, I have never been to a concert of any kind before and I now place seeing him live as a benchmark of what a concert is suppose to be like.

I told every friend I had of how blown away I was and I was like yeah he had a band but he didn't need em because he could do it all by himself and on and on.

Artist these days just don't have that energy, granted this is no jab at MJ but he has to put a lot of production in his shows, he has a great catalog and an awesome voice that rings like the thunder clouds but "P" did a stipped down stage for ONA and got rave reviews everywhere because of his musicianship period.

Usher...well he's just a young punk for a young generation and that is all they know, besides maybe seeing things like the Jackson tribute a while back on T.V. great performance although the first time I saw an Usher video I was at some firends house and the first thing that came out of my mouth was "who does this fool think he is? he must think he's MJ or something"

That's the first thing that hit me.

"P" and MJ.....both great, no comparison but both great .

Usher....just folling in the masters footsteps for a new generation.

I prefer Princes dancing over all those mentioned. Prince just seems so fluid the other guys seem to be a patchwork of practiced moves. Even when Prince aint doing the splits or trick moves like on the VH1 Pussy Control show its just so smooth general dancing. For any1 that does not rate P as a dancer I just really dont get it. Just check out Housequake on the SOTT vid or Hot Thing,thats some exelent dancing,or Girls and Boys on UTCM.There are countless vids were P shows how good a dancer he is. Some of dudes have a serious spite problem against Prince when it comes to dancing and need to give the man a break. I'd like to see Usher JT and MJ dance without any trick or trademark moves.

usher by far but in saying that im not sure if ive even seen prince dance that much cause whenever i see him hes always got a guitar hanging around his neck

if you look at dancing as a vocabulary of moves, Usher keeps saying the same kind of stuff (at least from what I have seen on MTV), but Prince has changed his body movements "language" from time to time...

Prince is also very conscious of not doing moves that are in the style of Micheal Jackson (especially in the 80's) so its not about him not being able to do all the usher moves, I bet he could easily do them, but he wants to keep his Prince brand which doesn't include pop n lock, gliding, moonwalking, waving...

Just look at how different the dancing is in the Theives in the Temple extended video, compared to the rough, moves in Purple Rain, or check out the moves he does in the bootleg video of the Toronto Lovesexy concert (he does a part where he does more glides and pop n lock)

Just look at the subtle way he changes his moves between Housequake and Hot Thing in the SOTT movie.

ALso is you see the GRaffiti Bridge outakes, nude tour videos, you can see that he can move like a trained dancer...

He's so short it easier for him... short legs and all...

I dont understand how you can say P seems uninterested in dancing,just because his vids dont all have him doing full dance shows everytime ,he aint Peter Andre U know.

ive seen lotsa prince vids but not to much live ones but ive seen a 93 bootleg concert in toronto and from watching like i said he moves well and i think thats actually a good compliment moving and dancing arent the same thing hes smooth and polished but i guess i need to see a proper tape of prince dancing cause im yet to see one i agree about him being a underrated guitarist i think he can almost make his guitar stand up and talk i read somewhere that someone said that prince was maybe the best rythum guatarist ever and i have to agree this is why im a big fan of the gold album cause of all the electric guitar on it
