Prince's wife gets the boot

There's an eviction notice in Carver County with the name of Prince's wife on it. Chanhassen's West Village Townhomes evicted Manuela Testolini for failing to pay $820, one month's rent, due on Dec. 1, 2003. That amount plus $245 in filing fees make the total owed $1,065, according to court papers. The townhouse is near both Prince's Chanhassen home and Paisley Park. A database search shows that Testolini used Paisley Park as an address before using the townhomes as her last address. A West Village resident told me Thursday that the eviction papers were posted on the door of Testolini's unit for a time before management entered the townhome and removed some belongings. The neighbor did not know who Testolini was or that she is married to Prince. Court papers state that Testolini did not show up for court before Judge Philip Kanning on Dec. 30. A notice to Testolini was returned marked "unclaimed," according to a notation on the file. Ted Bigos, of West Village Townhomes, did not respond to a voice mail asking about the disposal of Testolini's belongings, which might have some value on eBay. A note I left at Paisley Park for Prince and Manuela also has not attracted a response. According to Us magazine, Prince and Mani married in Hawaii on New Year's Eve 2001. That makes her having an apartment as of December 2003 all the more curious. Perhaps Mani needs time to herself?

I don't understand it. Why would Mani need a townhouse in her own name when she was already married to Prince at the time the eviction notice was issued???

If I remember correctly, the house in Canada is under Mani's name too. I don't know much about divorce laws, but in order to keep spouse #1 from trying to make a claim on new property purchased, a husband will put everything under spouse #2's name. In other words, Mani's name is on the deeds to keep Mayte from trying to squeeze more money out of Prince, ie., higher alimony payments, etc. Just a guess, don't know.
Maybe if CJ wasn't so busy being the leader of the haters, she'd do more investigating.

I hate to say it, but I think you're right. I've never heard of a married woman having her own place in her own name. I'm sure Prince's house is big enough so that if Mani needed some "alone" time, she could go into another room or another level of the house. I hate to be judgmental, but it doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

mayte is a dancer and has been all her life. what is mani? what does she do? does she still work for paisley park or does she have a better and new job or does she just follow him like a puppy because if she does follow him around, she would get crap from him if they ever divorced.
and mayte had a baby by prince, she was with him since she was 16 and he was the one who was chasing after her when she was still a minor, and she was a dancer and he saw her and had her dancing and back up singing, so she does deserve money even though they got anulled and that is far worse than getting divorced because it says " you and the baby NEVER existed" , now that is rude and she does deserve money for all that she went through.
she had a rough pregnancy and a loss of a baby that had problems.

Once again, idle speculation reigns with CJ. There are a whole lotta reasons why the townhome could be in Mani's name. Being that it is near Paisley and P's house, it could be something he set up for visiting friends and family (Mani's parent's, perhaps?). Putting it in Mani's name attracts a whole lot less attention than if its in P's. None of our business anyway.

Cracks me up how CJ also always makes note that she tried to contact Prince at Paisley Park, but got no response! Can't imagine why!

Nearly same as me! I say nearly, because I am one month retarded with the rent and this month I don't know neither how to get the amount to buy rent, etc.
And I say nearly, because she has a job, where to get the money from to buy her bills!

i used to evict people back when and y'know, likely 12/03 was the end of her lease and rather than pay dec. rent, move out and wait to get her deposit back probably she just failed to pay the rent, figuring it would 'even out'. nine times out of ten that's what happens with tenants who don't want to be bothered with the courtesy of informing management what their intent is, which is a pain for management because they still have to deal with the paperwork.

Your side of the story is completely wrong. The truth has been told over and over again. Mayte and her mother seeked out Prince. They sent a video tape of Mayte's dancing to Prince and the rest is history. Unfortunately, the baby passed away, noone every said he never existed. I don't understand your explanation on why she deserves the money; because of what she went thru??? PLEEEEESE. It would be a different story if the baby were still alive. Think it thru~
