I have a friend named Rodney. He used to clown Prince. He was into metal( Ozzy, Metallica, Van Halen etc).He was def NOT into Prince and hated his image..

when VH-1 had their American Bandstand reruns revival show, they ran the Prince perofrmance..the one where eh wore those tight pants etc...well Rod called me on th e phone one day laughing his ass off telling me Prince was on right then and here in these weird pants and he was laughing his ass off

Rod had watched UTCM..I cant remember if it was with me or not..I think it was..he may have seen the movie on cbale on his own...but he rofl at Prnces death scene...he even acted it out while laughing his ass off lol...in later eyars he would always bring that on death scene up baggin'...I dont think he even rememebrs anything else about the movie


Well, in 97 on the JOTY tour, Rodney was part of my entourage..I can't believe I got him to attend. I was more giddy that he was coming then I was to see Prince..in fact 2 other people came who had never seen prince but who liked him...well JOTY had Prince being nasty, playin loud Face Down etc..playing the bass or guitar with one foot over it hopping etc..playing lots of hits etc. At the end as we were filing out of th e ampitheater, Rod exclaimed.."Ive seen a million live shows and that was the greatest show Ive on earth!"---I wanted to cry lol. Others agred with him, stating their previous music preferences and how Prince had blown them all away. My Rod had graduated. To this day he still states "Prince was the best show Ive ever seen" in front of folks etc.

I guess live is where it's at...Prince live in person..playing..is something everyone should see. It changes perspectives.

I try to tell people that all the time, you havent seen a concert until you see a P concert.

I been to a few other concerts in my life besides Prince(rap,jazz, r&b,etc.) but other musicians stage presence in a live concert does not compare to PRINCE. When I leave a Prince concert I am on a natural high and tired from dancing in the aisle so much!!!

In addition, I too have seen folks who are not into Prince have a grand time at his concert.

My wife of 7 years was happy to listen to the commercial stuff and the love songs but that was it. She always put shit on me for my fanatical ways.

Well we went to the first sydney show this year. She was blown away saying she now realised what I meant all these years. As soon as we got home that night she made me go on the net to get tickets to the next nights concert (right next to right hand side of the stage).

She has since sent a letter to P and stole all my CD's.
