Well, shortly after I came to Earth, I met him. This was around the time of the Dirty Mind tour, and I gave him some fashion tips. I said "darling... thigh highs and panties... think about it!"
It seemed to work out for him! [This message was edited Wed Aug 13 10:34:16 PDT 2003 by DrFrankenfurter]

Click on Extras, in the upper right hand corner of your screen. Click "your org profile," then "Edit your profile," then "Forum Settings." You want to add an avatar. It has to be a picture from the Web. The Normal Whores Club

i really don't remember since i was so young. it seems like i've always been listening to him. i have a very vague memory of not listening to him but most of my life i've been following him. i would guess, though, that an older sibling or my mom or dad got me into him.

Back in 1983, saw the "1999" and "Little Red Corvette" videos -- thought he was REEEALLL cool, and wanted to be like him. (Back then, in my town, people were still like, "Prince who?"). Got the 1999 album for Christmas. Wow! Nothing else like it. Was hooked for good. I was 13.

I'm with the Syracuse live transmission. Actually, I DID trip on the When Doves Cry single prior to that, but it wasn't until I saw Prince and the Revolution in action that I became seriously hooked. That show was just electrifying. I thought Wendy was really cool, too. Why, I even liked the preceeding bit with Sheila E. performing The Glamorous Life. It's a pity the warm-up act wasn't included on the VHS release considering that it's all Prince music anyway. I'd love to have the Sheila E. performance on video as well.
One of the things that seemed attractive to the whole Prince thing back then was the whole family aspect to it. Ironic then, to read years later that the happy family was actually dysfunctional... Oh, well... That was a good time to be a fan. A GOOD Prince album every year, lotsa acts from his label and 12" single releases. Sigh... Here I go again, becoming all sentimental. Why DID my Prince leave me? But at least the music he did then will last a lifetime. And it was all good. There never was even a single track I did not like - until Emancipation with its Sex In The Summer, La, La, La, Means I Love U etc. - eeew!
