Old Prince Music and the new

I really like Prince's older music better then his new. Is it just me or do you guys like both or his new music better??...And if any, what are your most favorite songs by Prince?

hmm..I 'm a bigger fan of his 80s stuff more than anything. The 90s were ok, to tell the truth, by '99 I starting to get a little worried. I like "The rainbow children" and feel that he is in a much better place musically then he has been in a long time. As far as my favorite songs from him go...I'll get back to you on that

I honestly like both the old & the new but if I were forced to choose, I would go with the 80's material.

I'm more of an 80's to early 90's fan but I like TRC too. As long as we done have a rerun of New Power Soul and Rave Un2, we'll be alright.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

I'm into 1977-"Sign O' the Times" Prince. But, things changed for me when "Purple Rain" blew up. Up until that time being a Prince fan always felt so intimate to me.

1978-1990. I can pretty much listen to entire albums in that period of time.

I'd go along with that! not the eek but the fact TRC is great.

BTW i've been listening to a lot of Prince and the Revolution's 12 inch's this morning.

he'll never be that good again.

i could say that i'm a bigger of his older stuff and it would probably be true, but it could be because i'm listening to "1999" right now...

and if you were to ask me this same question tomorrow and i was listening to "gold experience" or something, i might have a different answer for you...

I dig Prince's 1979-1988, around 1991-1995 he picked up his groove again... TRC is pretty good, a little too non-secular 4 me though... Bob George ain't a JW!
Personally . I think we are all Boring with No Lives cause all we do is talk about Prince,Criticize and Gossip. I need a Horny Man is what I Need and probably so do most of yas. We are Sexually Frustrated what we R... Amen..!!! - zelaire

Just about everything in the 80's, of course, was good if not great but what the early to mid nineties lacked in consistency they made up for in musicianship. The late 90's, however, are another story-- one I'd like to forget. Things are looking up again so we'll see about the 2000's. hmmm

I enjoy both the old and the new. I can always get into Dirty Mind and go right into TRC and everything inbetween without any problem. They are very different albums, but both are great in their own way.

Very much what I was gonna write, as long as Batman is the last good album on there.
