S E X U A L - S U I C I D E

Just played this track last night over & over & over (and OVER!) again...and I decided it's the FUNK! stoned

What's the whole story behind this track? - On which album was it supposed to be included (if at all)? Has Prince ever performed it live?

Any feedback and comments are duly appreciated*

It sounds like from around '85ish to me.
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

It was either supposed to go on Parade or on Dream Factory,
I can't remember which one. I think it was first recorded
during the Parade sessions but lifted from that and then
possibly considered for DreamFactory at some stage.

Prince plays the drums himself on this one.
and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

One of the PP people at the NPGMC said that Prince was a sloppy drummer, is that true? I am not a musician so I have no idea if that statement would be considered accurate. I like what I have heard when Prince has played the drums, but sloppy? hmm

Yes that's true, and Prince is a Sloppy drummer.but that's what mazkes him so unique in his own drumming.Listen to TAMBORINE... that song is just fucking great.. with that sloppy drum all over it. Or NEW POSITION, or even TAKE ME WITH U (that intro alone is sooo great!) no one ever drummed that great 'n sloppy before and after!
theryago!
I looove prince's drumming,it had/has a style of it's own.. much more soul and an attempt of personlaity than any drummer he had/has..
it's not that how good you're of adrummer that makes you a good musician. Skills can be worthless without soul!

Please forgive me for not knowing, but how can drumming be sloppy? Unless it's off tempo or something I could see it, but all of the drum parts I've heard Prince play seem to be intact.
