Does anybody else think that the original Purple Rain "Dreams" script was better ? I was reading part of the description Prince wrote in his autobiography "The Beautiful Ones". It seems to be about Morris, Prince and Vanity and how their characters evolve through different life experiences. It also talks about Prince's dual nature (wild like his mother, self-righteous like his father) and how he struggles to find balance. You don't really see any of that in the movie we all got to see.
