They don't own the house. They're just hosting.

No one said they did. If you read the blurb, and even look at the hashtags, it's a partnership; a collaboration. They have no interest in owning a house thousands of miles away from their home like that. Prince bought the house at one point I believe. But the estate likely sold off a lot of those things after he died. He had a house on Dakota, and storage facilities, too.

In short, AirBNB are paying them a fee to be "hosts" of the house. I mean, they could get Bobby Z or Matt Fink to be "host" to the apartment in UTCM or something.

There are other "icon" locations, non-Prince, that they're doing. (ergo - read the blurb about it)

Looks like a cool idea. Doesn't go live until August, though, and it's basically going to be a lottery/best storyteller system to be chosen as an actual guest. I'm very interested in what the pricing will be.
