I for one would love more rehearsal tracks 'for the first time' on this SDE.

Plus, if they do a book, (they always do a book), Prince's drawings for ideas, and script changes for the movie.

Include three full live recordings, we all know what we want the most.

And why the hell not make it BIG, with the inclusion of :

- The Time's Ice Cream Castles album

- Apollonia's 6 album

- Modernaire's contribution, etc...

MAKE IT BIG.

But make the package affordable,

and provide donwloads to complete the era for the true completist fans.

This set won't be done anywhere near as it should be and it will have 3 discs of outtakes and 1 live show and we'll all be terribly sad.

I think Apple has the rights to the First Avenue 83 show and First Avenue 84 (Birthday Show) should be a standalone release or be kept for a release of that in between Purple Rain and ATWIAD album becaues that show has the basic tracks of some of the songs on that album that was replaced by ATWIAD.
With SOTT SDE and D&P SDE they added a show that wasn't really part of the tour so they could also do that by adding the First Avenue 84 try out show (August 14).
But they'll proabbaly add Syracuse 85 again because it's rumored that they found a new source for it.

I think they have done Syracuse to death...great job but, enough.

I would not mind the OMNI Atlanta show OR, a collection of songs from the tour from different cities.

Honestly, if we manage to get 3 whole discs of outtakes without any botched sound quality or mono mixes, I'll consider that a success far beyond my expectations

if they ad Sheila E's support act and release the broadcast version instead of the home video version of the main show than it might be nice.

I heard that rumour too, but it seems quite unlikely to me, since there was no other new information to support this rumour. Because by now everything is already decided, ànd kept very well as a secret this time. My guess is, if it is the PR SDE, it will be for the end of this year. Between now and Celebration'24, not much will happen except for two new songs on a cassette in poor quality... Hope i'm dead wrong.

I'm all for releasing new sources for previously released material if the source is better. Ultimately, it's a good thing.

Now it would be better if this was a new source for "Wally" and not for Syracuse 1985, i.e. for released recordings that are really suffering from obvious/annoying problems.

And it would be even better if it was done in a context where they're releasing a ton of previously unreleased stuff. This is not the case, so if (if!) they're re-re-releasing Syracuse 1985, this is a bit underwhelming. (But good at the same time.)

Since 2017 I think. Apple was said to do a documentary for it for a anniversary release, I never heard anything more about it again. But if they have some rights to it then maybe they can block it for the Estate until Apple has released it first. Otherwise it would be perfect for a Purple Rain SDE

I can't really rememebr but wasn't this something that Tyka hinted at, that they sold it to Apple for a documentary ? it could be maybe to hype up the 2017 Purple Rain Deluxe Edition but, I don't know.
Maybe it's the same deal as the Netflix doc that the Estate have to run it by them first before they release it.

If it;s not with Apple than I really hope it;s on teh SDE because it belongs on there.

And i mean BIIIIIIIG!

I don't care for the price this time. Really not.

It would be more complete for me if they did an effort to include 'The Time' and 'Apollonia Six' (unreleased) tracks or different versions we never heard.

For sure i want a Dolby Atmos of the album, cause that was my surprise with the D&P SDE release.

A cleaned up verision of the movie WITH extended deleted scenes.

And audio surprises like demo-ideas,

or Prince fooling around on the piano or any other instrument.

Rehearsals (video footage) from the bands in the movie.

His involvement with the outfits of The Revolution etc... Prince was good in making drawings of his ideas, why not these.

Alternative artwork. Advertisement, whatever... (in case they make a book / they always make a book.)

It would be nice to have more info how Prince himself put all the flowers in some studio on the floor for the album cover. For sure there are more pictures of that, maybe even video.

Shots, pictures of the making of the movie.

More stories on the poster, small interesting things like that.

Maybe even have a few great contemporary remixes. And I know how much most people hate this idea here. It doesn't need to be on the SDE, rather as a download, to get youngsters more into it.

I would't mind at all.

Why does it need to be a massive bloody car crash? When they do a good job, it simply won't be a bloody mess. My idea is that not everything needs to be on a SDE.

It can be available via download, instagram, facebook, TikfuckingTok, Telegram... you name it. Isn't it about time they give some real interesting goodies for free imho. Things only die hards would love to see and have. Plus you make it also available for study.

I for one want to hear the unabashed WDC, and honestly, when it's a avilable, I bet you too. Every Prince fan wants to hear that.
