One I'm very curious about that I've never had on my radar is "Thunder Ballet"...what do you guys think that is? Orchestreal version of Thunder?

It's been around for years. The circulating version is taken from the Joffery Ballet Billboards video. It has audience noise on it. I haven't heard it years but I used to really like it . I hope this version is the proper studio version without the audience noise.

It's a clean version without the performers' screams, etc.

The "circulating version" was a download from Prince, himself!

i'm happy that it is now cleanly represented in this set

yeah that was weird he just ripped the VHS/Laserdisc version and put it up on the NPGMC (or he ripped it from the bootleg?!)
Like wen they sold japanese TV pirate copies of The Undertaker and Beautiful Strange on VHS via NPGMC.

The studio version has been circulating for almost 30 years. It's just Thunder with a really long middle part.

I ordered it on Amazon months ago- whats the earliest they start arriving? Is it optmistic to get it before Friday?

I'm very disappointed in the selection of vault tracks. I'm not suprised, but....nah, this ain't it. The longer version of Schoolyard (mostly instrumental at the end) is cool, Hey U is ok, but most of the rest just don't do much for me. Standing At The Altar is worse than the Margie Cox version, too much demo-quality vocals and production in the entire set in general, and just an overall sense of "incomplete" to me.

It is not bad, but it is far away to be great. I really really really do not understand why they didn't choose I Hear You Voice instead one of the weakest tracks

Mediocre in general to be honest, but nice to hear them once.

Trouble - not bad, fun

Letter 4 Miles - very cool, great jazzy tune

Hey You - playful, in the spirit of Schoolyard

I Pledge Allegiance to Your Love - nice blues

Tip 'O My Tongue - meh, should've been replaced with 'Well Done'

The Voice - sounds slower, but a nice song

Get Blue - nice

Spirit - Mel & Kim-ish, throwaway

Open Book - nice in good quality

Work Tha Fat - my kinda great Prince joke

Something Funky (This House Comes) [Band Version] - fun, even with Tony all over it

Hold Me - meh, sounds dated, should've been replaced with 'I wonder'

Blood On The Sheets - would even be better with vocals

The Last Dance (Bang Pow Zoom and the Whole Nine) - slimmy slimmy gimme, jughead, so bad she good, just remixed fun; IGOR!

Skip to My You My Darling - just meager

Darkside - isn't it time they release a full rehearsal?

Standing at the Altar - great nice tune, but could've been more than just this demo-ish version

Thunder Balleet - no need for this, could've been replace with something else.
