The full regular album is now on Tidal as well, remastered. Some tunes sound better, some worse than the original versions in my opinion. First impression though.

RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...

. It’s really quite terrible. . I’m shocked by how drastically different the sound is. The lack of bottom end on much of the remaster is bad enough, but just the fact that the remaster fundamentally changes the sonic character of these songs. . On several of them, it just sounds like someone decided to mess with the EQ just because they could. There is no purpose behind these decisions. . It’s galling.

Not sure if you're listening to the atmos mix, which seems to be appalling? I turned atmos off on my iTunes and the stereo mix remaster is far, far better.

I was utterly horrified upon first listen to the atmos mix.

D&P is a strange blip for me. I would happily unpack a GB, Batman, or even a Symbol-album SDE. I would race to buy a Come / Gold Experience SDE, although I'm already so happy with The Dawn 4.1, even after all these years. But D&P just doesn't have it for me. I hope the vault tracks reveal some kind of diamond in the rough, something interesting or listenable or authentic or fun. So far it's just less good songs from the less good album.

What an exciting time ot be a Prince fan. I haven't felt like this since the Fall of 2020. After such a long, fallow period, it's thrilling to have true unreleased gems about to drop. Despite the exception of some of my favorites like "Uh Huh (U Got The Right 1 Baby)" and "Eye Wonder", this set contains so many infamous tracks I can't wait to hear for the first time.

I've had about a third or so of the vault songs since the Summer of 91 before the album was released, and I can't wait to reexperience them as new in clear sound, vs the grainy cassettes I first got them on. I'm waking up each day checking Twitter and Apple Music for new leak/drops and hope there are plenty more before 10/27...I've waited 32 years for these and am ready for satisfaction!

Leave Schoolyard alone. Ain't nothin wrong with the song. It's just about teen sex and that's it!

If you can tolerate disgusting song like Sister then you can do the same thing with Schoolyard.

Prince's legacy will be fine!

the songs most of us know nothing about, if i'm correct, are:

laurianne
darkside
blood on the sheets
the last dance
trouble
alice through the looking glass
I pledge allegiance to your love

also, "streetwalker" is a track I have never heard. it's one of the rosie gaines demo tracks
but i can't remember if it leaked. I don't think I have it anyway, searched most discs for it
by now.

"Streetwalker" is very close to "Trust". Fast groove with Prince whispering "Work it, baby". Really nice piano solo, bu the song doesn't really go anywhere.

"Lauarianne" is a rock song. Early Bealtles-like vocals. It's a nice groove.

Laurianne reminds me of The One U Wanna C

I'm really enjoying Live for Love (early version). Prince's rap is way better than the rap in the original.

Well, if so... it's obviously an American thing.

As a European I could not care less for the imaginative scandals of subjects like teen sex or the fuck whatever Prince lyrical fantasy is all about.

The more nasty he gets the better he sounds. wink

Bring it all on.

Looks like the Glam Slam show could be dropping this week. The track timings have shown up on iTunes, which normally happens release week…

Could this be a misstanke by Apple? It's not available on Spotify or anywhere else. I just find it odd that the whole show is released already before the set.

Don't think it's a mistake unless it's just gone up a day early.

I noticed yesterday iTunes had the track timings up for the whole Glam Slam show, which normally indicates those tracks will be up for purchase/streaming on the Thursday afternoon in the UK.

.

I thought it was a bit odd the whole remastered studio album was released a couple of weeks ago. Now with the whole Glam Slam show also getting a release it'll only be the vault tracks that'll be new on release day
