eek Where's 'I Wonder'? Me and especially my Mrs are very upset at this omission. Listened to it for years as a bootleg. Her favourite Prince song always tells me to put it on again, woooo lawd..she really aint happy at all! lol

Princevault puts this song as being recorded in 90 or 91. It’s possible it was recorded and considered for prince in 1991, as well as Player.

Maybe, but hopefully it is not some wack PC reason for omitting these, like they did Lust U Always and Extraloveable from 1999 SD.

The earlier version of The Flow I think should be on the this set.

I think maybe it was saved for Symbol. Oybreadon I can think it wasn't included.

100% It makes more sense on this set since Rosie’s on it. And it was actually on early configurations so surely it’s a no brainer.
.
Same with Joyful Sound, that was on there as an intro to Willing And Able.

Well the lyrics in I Wonder don't mention rape so no it's not some "wack PC reason" 🙄 this Extraloveable/Lust You Always bs is tired. Letitgo

Nah, I am not ready to let the vibe just flow in regards to Lust U Always and Extraloveable, perhaps one day. I do appreciate the suggestion though.

So we know Blood on The Sheets is an instrumental. I wonder if Darkside is as well.

'Tis. Prince on guitar, Levi on bass with P instructing Michael B on his fills throughout its duration. It's a heavy, trippy, 70s-style rock epic putting Bland through his paces - who rises to the challenge admirably.

Cheers.

Sounds like I'll like it. I've always enjoyed the tracks when those 3 get together.

I think that next track (September 21st) will B "1999/Baby, I'm A Star/Push (Live At Glam Slam, Minneapolis, MN, 1/11/1992)".

And the earlier version of The Flow, that was originally on D&P, should defo have been on it

The Flow is on it. Similar to how 1000 Light Years From Here was stitched into Black Muse. And P raps all the verses.

At the end of Open Book.

Not really. It's the song that is extended a good three or so minutes longer than its Origins iteration.

Really looking forward to getting this extended band version of Something Funky (This House Comes)

.

And The Sacrifice Of Victor from Glam Slam. Apparantly an amazing performance with The Steeles and Rosie

Live 4 Love early version is only just over a min longer than album version.

While Something Funky band version is 3 to 4 min longer than studio version from D&P Beginnings

It's Live 4 Love - me and N23 had a cocaine fueled sex romp at Caseyrain's house and he had the set going on loop there.

At The Alter is something of a highlight. I kind of gives me the 1999/Vanity-days vibes (alot a bit of Madonna's Borderline). Quite a cool song. Not really different from what was released.

Have to disagree. It's not minimalist, it's a demo - to my ears anyway. Nice to hear (particularly the harmonies on the chorus) but cheap sounds, clearly getting ideas down quickly. Cox version has been fully produced and is bursting with life. This is a skeleton in need of some flesh.

If you look at the tracklist it seems more to be an Originals vol2. Most songs are prince's versions of songs he gave away. There must be much more in the vault than this.

Undoubtedly. But it's been curated to make three cohesive albums and the majority of us would have demanded all the perfect versions of those P 'originals' either way. From the unreleased songs I know of, there could have easily been another disc. Perhaps two. But that's when it gets overwhelming and near impossible to assess and digest. I'd prefer the motherload, but P obsessives like ourselves are the exception - they also need to make money from sane fans to make SDEs viable. Given that context, two of the previously 'unheard' songs - Laurianne and I Pledge Allegience 2 Ur Love - make this whole project worthwhile on their own. They shine because there's no shite rubbing against them to dirty their impact. As for many of the 'originals', they're not the versions you're familiar with, no matter what bootlegs you have. Neversin and about 20 others might have heard this organic, high energy 'Tip O My Tongue' or this 'Pain' with an insane scat breakdown but that's it. You've a lot to look forward to. Don't underestimate how hard a crystal clear version of Open Book is going to kick your arse. And I've not even mentioned the two heavy instrumental guitar freakouts with P guiding and testing Michael B to his limits. Well, until there.

Insatiable, Glam Slam 91, Live 4 Love, Letter 4 Miles and Thunder Ballet are not lossless files - they all cut off at 16k.

What's really strange is that there is a section of Thunder Ballet that does exceed 16k. This is the end of the song itself, from about 2:40 to 3:00.

Always cry 4 love, never cry 4 pain.
