Ah, you might be right. I had it in my mind that the DVD was the Glam Slam show. I would prefer the DVD to be the full tour show. Earl's Court preferably!
Paisley Park has shown the full Earl's Court show from June 15, so it's quite possible that that is the DVD. I'm hoping for the Glam Slam show on video, it's excellent. Sounds like we'll be getting the Glam Slam show either audio or video for sure.
I'd rather see the glam slam show since there has yet to be a true club gig represented officially |

Rumour I heard is Glam Slam is the Blu Ray. Not sure if it was shot on film, but a higher chance than the main shows in London which were horrible digital video, probably using the venues cameras for the big screens.
Other shows shot on film were the final night at Wembley in ‘93, and Bagleys Warehouse the same night… these we need as Blu-Rays! |

I'm torn on that. I think every SDE should come with a video of the main tour, for prosperity and completeness. Ideally, they could add an aftershow/special performance, but if they won't expand the sets further, I'm cool they make that a seperate release. So I'd rather see a seperate Glam Slam audio/video box set.
If they do go with a main show, for this SDE, the Earls Court gigs had the full pro camera set up so would be a good call. But I have bias. I'll be in it.
The main D&P show was one of his most ambitious, so I hope doesn't get left on the vault shelf too long.

The live shows at this time were ferocious...he seemed to want to show the band off constantly. It would be so good to get the Glam Slam show but....why would a D&P concert be skipped when he put so much effort into putting those shows together. |

for someone who questioned why it should be blu ray as the source was video tape....The Syracuse 1985 show was far worse quality....the blu ray from last year did improve upon it. I think the video I've seen of the 1992/1993 period was not nearly as bad as 1985 so i expect much better filtration. |

Apparently the single box set was available for sale by mistake at the official Prince store but removed by the estate. That explains the leaked pictures The single box set is limited to 1991 copies. U are now an official member of the New Power Generation

That doesn't surprise me. We found out about Originals in much the same way when it showed up on the official store front, including the cover image and an image of side 1.
That was before there was an anouncement about the album at all.

The way things are going, there is a chance after all that they'll send out the Parade SDE instead by accident. |

Nightcrawler said: What do you think - will the SDE have a holografic sleeve? I sure hope so. Mentioned in a post in March that Jeff Gold, who did the art direction for the Diamonds & Pearls album, has said cost prevented use of the hologram on the original album cover and that the CD was very expensive to do - the album would have been prohibitive. He talks about production of the hologram in this link: https://recordmecca.com/n...th-prince/Also the company that originally produced/embossed the hologram on the 1991 D&P CD and cassette releases (and a larger image on a display stand for some shops) still have the masters for this hologram, and said “we can reproduce this image if needed...I am not sure who owns the rights to this hologram. The owner [would have to] authorize the use of this image, if we are to re-create it.” I took the ‘if needed’ to mean they’d not been approached, so when the SDE does out come out, I’d not expect it to have the hologram on the cover. There may or may not be something coming! |

I would love if they did a Glam Slam audio/video box set. Videos of 91, 92, and 93 and audio for the smaller shows in the Erotic City room upstairs in 94. I don't recall them filming any of those. There were 2 shows in 94 on the main stage too, but I don't remember if those were filmed. Wishful thinking!

Isn't Glam Slam the live audio for the set not the video? And question (for those who saw the Glam Slam show), describe the quality.. Is it better than Earls Court quality? Is the quality like the Live 4 Love (live video) or even better? What shows (if any) from the D&P was shot on film?

Made it worse honestly, it looks like a watery clay mess especially up on the screen. Hoping that they don't use that Topaz AI 4K Upscaling method again to remaster any other broadcasted concerts or concert that goes with the set. It should come from the film reels or either the highest quality betamax/VHS tape or U-Matic tape. |

Never been away really. Been here since the late 90s but just chose not to post anymore after the org buggered up everyone's passwords and I got locked out of my old account. Starting all over again after 20 odd years of solid gold was too high a mountain to climb. |

nah. someone made mention of the fact that sheila e played a song with the same title at celebration 02 and it's possibly this same d&p era one, i think it's on youtube. |

I saw both at Paisley on their huge screen and they are both clear to me. The Glam Slam one is slightly darker, but it didn't have quite the light set up that an arena show does. Neither one of them had the issues that the Syracuse show does. If you're talking about the quality of the Earls Court video that has been circulating for ages, then it is far better than that.

yes. I'm one of the few Prince wackos that actually prefers the protege versions in many cases (like "101"), but the Prince version of that one is 100% superior to the Martika version. He goes full Bell Biv DeVoe on that one. |

you know what would be awesome. 3 discs of just prince/npg vault tracks and then the fourth vault disc is the "originals" of the era (non-frankenstein versions). that's the smart way to handle their inclusion.
I've been saying that for a long time...Originals included as a separate CD in the SDEs
I like this. The Originals are the only reason I'm getting slightly slightly more enthused about this SDE for one of my very least favorite Prince albums. We get a full disc of Originals and I join the street team hype parade.
And because we all know the estate likes hoarding and intentionally omitting stuff, they still wouldn't be able to fit every D&P era original on a single CD.

Indeed. Paris would B great as I attended the 4 shows.
There were three shows at Paris Bercy, not four. Unless you mean to include the aftershow at Les Bains Douches, but I can confirm that one wasn't filmed as I attended and the place was crammed.
In any case, as with the vault material, I'd much rather anything that's not been circulating before, nevermind whether the video o audio quality is vastly improved. It amazes me that people long for material already available to be released officially just for the sake of it, with allegedly so much stuff in the vault that we've never seen or heard before. |

Prince fans: "we can't have all the edits and remixes in the set or all the vault tracks, because then the set would be too expensive."
.
Also Prince fans: "I hope the box set has the hologram at the front." |
