Celebration 2023 - 7 logo
Who's going? What is expected? There still is no list of guests... Weird Logo... "The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves. And wiser people so full of doubts" (Bertrand Russell 1872-1972)

Maybe it's just me but the estate's cryptic approach to everything isn't cute nor is it particularly effective marketing. Just give people actual details and let them build hype naturally.

Yes, we get it Estate. It's been 7 years since he left us. Seems kind of crass to remind us of that.

I 2nd that! Prince didn't celebrate anniversaries, and when I saw the mashed-up 7, I found it 2 be saddening and maddening. It's like an abomination of the glorious and iconic as well as the mega-hit "7". I wonder if The Estate will release bath-robes, slippers and scarves next week with the new 7 logo. "purplelectricity whenever our bodies touch"

I think orginaly the song 7 was going to be some what of a mashup of a 7 and the symbol... "Keep on shilling for Big Pharm!"

And honstly what a crap logo! I mean, look at that 'seven', the shape fo it, it absolutely doesn't match the symbol.

The live version of ''7'' on the instagram ad is new for me, but doesn't thrill me all that much... What are they up to? "The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves. And wiser people so full of doubts" (Bertrand Russell 1872-1972)

The Celebration tickets (to unnaounced events) are two levels: In the background of the announcement, the song "7" plays.
Welcome to "the org", laytonian… come bathe with me.

$1500 plus? These mofos have lost their mind.

They're not the mofos, but those who are willing to pay for it. The exclusiveness they help to create exlcude acccess for other less fortunate fans. Is it good to keep PP alive and working? Sure. What the estate could do, is having at least two or three days in a year the possibility to visit Paisley Park for free. So less fortunate kids/people/new and older fans also can get a chance to see Prince's home.Remember, Prince once was very poor too. That would contribute to his legacy with a recognisable empathy and could reflect the mostly unknown charities Prince secretly held on to throught his whole life. Anyways, PP only counts on the older (+45) fans with a job and a bank account. It's just a matter of business. And it's also not easy to run a huge complex like that without a good businessplan and the right people in charge. PP should get other destinations maybe, to stay up and running. Cause these Celebrations will not last that long imho. In 10 to 15 years from now they need to have more wheelchair access... If people still will remember Prince. Come on bash me.

They really want people to pay $1500 up front without having any clue who's on the lineup? What a goddamn circus
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
I think I corrected it by the time of entry!

For 1500 dollars, I’d want it to include the keys to the vault and a fine lady to escort me back to my motel afterwards. There may or may not be something coming!

Yeah, but that doesn't mean the estate has to copy one of his more annoying traits now that he is gone. And at least Prince actually backed it up with great music and live events each year, whereas the estate is fumbling with their laughably overpriced merch and no game plan in sight.

I understand everyone's issue with Prince didn't this or that but reality is the only way this play doesn't get sold off, is to make it a museum like theme park attraction sorry that's just blunt reality. Someone has to pay the bills and there's no revenue from a tour or new albums or whatever coming in so what do you suggest is going to help keep the lights on? A parade reissue deluxe edition, piano and a microphone live video, please that wouldn't be enough for one months rent

Prince's hits music as payed airplay alone brings in a lot of $$ That must be worth something, no? Streaming... Reissues... (shitty) merch... etc "The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves. And wiser people so full of doubts" (Bertrand Russell 1872-1972)

No reason why they can't do all of that and release new music concurrently.

They had a whole year and waited 2 months out to charge 1500 not including flight/hotel/uber/rental and only had one bullet point for the VIP experience. This was def a FOMO cause one of the VIP tracks was sold out within an hour "You know, this is funky but I wish he'd play like he used to, old scragglyhead son of a...*smack* OOH!"
"Who's the foo singing will it's would"

It appears that wasn't really sold out. But it is now. . The lack of info on what's actually happening. If I'm going to shell out $1200 plus accommodation and flights, I want to know a bit more about the experience! . When I spent $250 on a week long Celebration in 2002, I knew I was going to get to see Prince every night (cannot remember if the other acts had been announced). . I want to go to this, but they're not selling it to me!

I do worry about the quality of what trickles down. Time keeps on slipping into the future...

I actually forked out for the Diamond VIP ticket, even though it's RIDICULOUSLY expensive...
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
I"m going to be in NY around that time, which makes it an awful lot easier than coming from London/Dubai. But I'd really like more info.
