I was actually there the night they met in Toronto...when she was called up on stage...actually kept in touch for a few years following and then lost contact. I regret losing contact...i was young an foolish, and didn't know how to act back then

Anyway, my view is that she was not a performer and had no wish to do so. The girl was a university student when Prince met her. She may have started working the merch counter during his L4OA tour but she quickly moved onto charitable endeavours on his behalf. There isn't one bad thing you acn say about her. She has kept quiet following his passing. She's never really uttered any words about him that could be misconstrued. She has obviously gone on to become a philanthropist herself so, to me, she's carried on in a very dignified manner. At his core, I believe Prince was similar and probably valued this and her more than most actually know.

If I could, I would love to have a conversations with her today. She has kids, I do too.....she invited my wife and I to an aftershow once and we got to go upstairs and hang out....some of my most cherished memories.

I think the brain fills in blanks in memory to suit the current view of a person because Manuela wasn't really a big deal the very few times she posted to amp. In top of that, nobody even drew the connection until many many years later. This trope that she was a desperate fan is, at best, not true and, at worst, kinda dickish. She was also quite young at the time. She just took the job that was offered to her, as Mayte's assistant, because Prince liked to keep the pretty ladies close and assistant is all they could do for him if they weren't performers or artists of some sort (like Randee, being a photographer).

I just read the thread and coments on there, I didn't originate that topic so, to me it just showed what kkind of person she was.

Well, her topics about clothing Prince would like to catch his eye and whatnot on Housequake had her banned and I wasn't the only one online who thought she was creepy.
But no matter it's all in the past, Prince is dead, Mani learned her lesson not to fuck with Prince and has come and gon without much fanfare.

Did she come across as unhinged ? It's interesting to hear from someone who was there in real time.

Truth be told, Mani aside, for someone so paranoid/cautious, I found Prince to be extremely naive to embark in a relationship with a fan who used to post on forums. He talked to Tavis Smiley about creepy fans who showed up at his doorstep, he should have known better but oh well it's all in the past.
