He could've come up with 300 melodies.

To her, they were just three.

I wonder if he wrote “U’re Gonna C Me” from “One Nite Alone… Solo Piano & Voice” for Manuela. He wrote it while they were together, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it was about her. Not all of his songs were biographical. Like any author, he created fictional characters and fictional situations.

But I’d he did write it for her, then his decision to revisit the song on “MPLSound” would be curious since that was after they divorced.

I suspect there are "electric" versions of all of the ONA album in the same vein as UGCM on MPLSound. But if not...

He did also once say some songs were about more than one person. This may be a song like that because the lyrics don't make sense. Why would he buy a bed for two with a person who wasn't already his? It seems to change to a different person at the end. Even if I consider prince sometimes was guilty of malapropisms, this seems a little specific and hard to flub.

you hold onto your 2 1/2 flip-floppy examples, we'll hold onto our 74+ concrete examples. Even Kim Basinger was on trax. Perhaps he "settled" on a slew of Vault videos for Manuella as well.

Kim Basinger was already a performer - both an actor and a singer, AS WELL AS a model. Not a humanitarian. Read em and Weep, Willow.

3 1/2 examples then. You sure showed me.

Never mind the other 70 non-singers he worked with were non-singers before he broached the subject.

No she didn't. She kept shaking her ass on stage after they were married (Paisley Park parties)
She stopped when she knew she was preganant and the whole aftermath of that.

Paisley park parties don't count.

Why, because it messes up your baseless assumptions?

I agree with LoveGalore. The differnce between Mayte showing her ass to a small crowd of stangers vs a large crowd of strangers is a difference in degree, not a difference in kind.

Difference in degree is still a difference and you're agreeing just to be annoying, I know how the org works.

People have their own mind and can agree if they feel. That's not to be annoying. It's because your statement is goofy.

You do because you keep responding at every turn. You started the thread, now you can't take someone challenging you on something?

Music was Prince's life, I always felt like he used it as a way to get closer to people, whether it's friends or women he loved. Working on a musical project was a chance for them to have something in common.

The org can't handle the truth.

They're all a bunch of protégé misogynists around here anyway. They all wish the Apollonia, Sheila, Ingrid, Carmen, Martika, Mayte, Tamar, Bria and that Diamond and Pearl white label were buried in the deepest, darkest crevices of The Vault so they don't look so completely ridiculous ignoring a solid 10-15% of their supposed favorite artists' central discography. They just want that linndrum classique funk times infinity, even while the true 3-Michelin star magnum opus that surely is the obviously-shelved Manuella triple-disc is staring them right in their collective neckbeards.

LOL.

Well I fully agree with your fantastic look at it. biggrin

Oh, you forgot the best, Jill Jones, and a few 'minor' others. wink))

I think that Manuela's influence was more the fan orientation with public soundchecks and fanclub.

Because his marriage was about to blow up.

Some might say the lyrics to "Sunday in the Park" allude to that. There's been rumors.
