he mentioned in the 1985 Roling Stone interview, that he had an album's worth of songs that could have been the followup to 1999. And there were songs recorded post Purple Rain. (the last being When Doves Cry in March) However, it was also between this time that ATWIAD was recorded (everything but HELLO and some edits and overdubs and other tinkering was done by the end of 84) Thanks for the info. Maybe you're right. Do you think it's likely that they'd do a deluxe edition for the Love Symbol album though? Is that album held in high regard amongst Prince fans?

Yeah I'm more than likely wrong but whichever way it goes, they do seem to be hinting at some sort of release for this year. So I think ATWIAD has as good a chance as any. It wouldn't be my personal preference. I'm still not even halfway through the unreleased material I've found so far anyway so I'm probably not in as much of a hurry for a new release as the rest of you, but if I were to choose which project I wanted next I would go for a big collection of all his ballads released in a 3 or 4 disc set just in time for Valentine's day. As much as I love songs like Let's Work, Xtraloveable, etc I find that it is songs like The One, Adore and Insatiable that pull me back in to Prince-Land.

No way the '7' has anything to do with a ATWIAD SDE or whatever. It's just a theme for 2+0+2+3 and the fact that it is seven years since Prince died, so proabably just a '7' themed celebration with some exclusive celebration release of a unreleased version or live version of 7.

Yeah, realistically speaking, you're most likely correct. But come on, man. Allow a girl to dream!

. . Its my favorite and I want it on streaming so it can be some other kid's favorite too someday if it was just a dream, call me a dreamer 2

After looking through Spicer's tweets and replies, all I see are cryptic comments, empty promises, and cutesy GIFs. But, I'm just an idiot on the .org, so what would I know. Don't even downplay it! Loveleft Loveright is fire. That is the most pimpin song Prince ever did, imo. Love his confidence and attitude on that song. Also love the rest of the Larrabee Sessions (especially Play and Get Off). I even like the stuff with Robin Power. Not for her, I sorta tune that stuff out but it's that fucking groove. It sounds good at every speed.

Award Winning Producer/Director, DJ & Prince Legacy Owner - that's what he says on his twitter account "The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves. And wiser people so full of doubts" (Bertrand Russell 1872-1972)

Does anyone else get annoyed every time the Prince social media accounts tweet about the anniversary of some past release? That seems to be all they do anymore. like, yeah, it's cool that X number of years passed since that album, when do y'all plan on releasing something new for people to talk about?

this seems pretty unambiguous

Strange. Its a song i still dislike to this day. Tried to listen to it again just now, and nope. I really don't like it, and i don't know why. ''7'', the accoustic version, the remixes, yuck. Strange huh. As if there's something with the vocals that is not right... maybe it's that, i dunno Also the samples are super annoying to me, and the drum rhythm and percussion is also not my thing. also the lyrical content... "...And we will see a plague and a river of blood So far my unasked and unimportant opinion. "The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves. And wiser people so full of doubts" (Bertrand Russell 1872-1972)

Exactly. Was thinking the same. But not even sure if (bold) will happen. I don't think ther will be any release this year except for some streaming maybe. But let's hope we're all wrong.

Exactly. And Official Paisley Park is even worse... I'm not even following them anymore. I also unsubscribed from the official Prince mailing list. I don't need new purple hoodies, which was the drop that mgot me mad, the very last shit email from two days ago. Fuck them. Yeah, I wouldn't get my hopes up. Technically last year we did get music/video released and it was a rehash of shit that has already been put out multiple times.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
technically the ad for he celebration is new video and new music.

. Which would be cool (for collectors), but, again, not really previously unreleased music (unless the mixes really are that different).
