so how much do we wanna bet that the estate will slap together some exclusive vinyl release of the full interview and shove that out to the fans before they announce the next SDE?

No, but it will make it to the Netflix documentary in 2025.

You think his responses were "spot on" and "pretty well involved"? First he says teachers need an education too. What the hell does that even mean? Then he says they deserve a raise, which is fair enough, but there's nothing special about that. It's just repeating a super generic and obvious statement he heard grown-ups say.

To be clear, I understand that he was only 11 and I'm not faulting his responses. Anyone who critisize his responses is a fool. But at the same time, that doesn't mean we have to make them out to be great responses and give them more credit than they deserve. He was just a young kid *understandably* parroting what he'd heard grown-ups say. That doesn't deserve scorn, but it also doesn't deserve praise. It just is what it is.

Oh brother, there always has to be 1 in the bunch.

Can't you just be happy that we got to see an unseen video of Prince at approx 11 years old?

I ask why? Why, is there criticism of something so simple?

And yet you are faulting his responses, and that must mean you are a fool...by your own words.

Why is it so fucking hard to enjoy something, without picking it the fuck apart?

This is why this place has gone fucking down hill and everybody fucking left it. Damn!

He is clearly attracted to the camera. Strange that he didn't tell about that in his memoirs. But if IRC it goes only up to 1969? Did this footage actually broadcast on tv at the time?

From what I understand this was raw footage and was not actually broadcast

There's no way that was broadcast because his answer starts off as jibberish. The teachers deserve better education? What does that mean? The teachers are working "house" for the kids? That is the full interview since you see him walk up, get asked and then answer a question, and then walk off. They were clearly asking all the kids walking up what they thought of the strike in case they got a coherent answer they would want to broadcast.

That's not what he said.

The interviewer clearly asks him: "Are most of the kids in favor of the picketing?" and his answer is an unequivocal "Yup." The interviewer then asks "How come?" His initial reply is about the kids: "I think they should get a better education too, cause..." At that point, he says "Umm" (which is not an uncommon thing for 11-year olds to say) and shifts the focus of his answer to the teachers: "and I think they should get some more money cause they work, be working extra hours for us and all that stuff.”

It's not uncommon for on-the-street interviews to be choppy. People (especially kids) get nervous and stammer. An editor might have taken a fancy to him saying "I think they should get some more money..." and spliced the footage down to that 2-second sound clip. WCCO has not shared the entire film transfer, and I have not seen any reference to them looking for aired footage (they may not have any because the film stock may have been transferred to video before being aired back then). It seems unlikely, but not for the reason you mentioned.

You are correct. There's a slightly longer video..a few seconds of P behind Tonnie KItchen before he starts jumping up and down. He's peeking around.
After he talks, he runs away in that familiar P way. So f'in cute. The little boy in him never grew up.
This may have the complete video -- if not, it's at least interesting.

Looked all over YT to find that extended/complete video...

Could not find it.

And i'm not all that good in searching the way our beloved Bart does.

Anyone a link please?

Thanks.

I hate it when they milk the cow; ''just a gimpse of our conversation''

for whatever usefull Ronny Kitchen and Terrence Jackson have to say.

Spreading information over ''the coming days''...

probably one memory thing a day... Some blah blah network,

As if it would gain more attention towards them

This video of the young Prince/skipper is such a great find. It’s great to hear a little bit of his accent. But have they released a full uncut version of the entire time that Prince is on camera? Whatever I see, it looks like it starts with him already on camera or cuts out with him still there. I want to see the few extra seconds that they seem to be leaving out.
