A little while after Prince died, I went to the official Prince exhibition at the O2 Arena in London. It was organised by the estate and everything, so was official.
At one point, we were ushered into a room, and there was a pair of shoes and an acoustic guitar on display. The tour guide said 'these are shoes he wore and guitar he played when he did MTV Unplugged'...
I turned to my girlfriend and whispered 'Prince never did MTV Unplugged'.... she couldn't believe the tour would get something like that wrong.
In this part of the tour you were allowed to touch the guitar... if you went up one at a time, and put on the gloves, and the tour guide never let go of the instrument. I passed. I didn't need to touch a guitar.... weird.

I always cringe at stuff like that. I once went to Jamaica and visited where Bob Marley is buried. He's "buried" six feet above ground in a marble box that sits inside a very small cottage. Anyway, we were allowed inside to touch the marble box which was weird but the part that was weirder for me was that you were allowed to take the alcohol you can buy at the bar on the property into the cottage. Knowing that Bob was teetotal with alcohol, I left my beer outside on a wall before going inside. Just out of respect and all. Not the same thing but sorta kinda.
