Prince played God Instrumental on guitar in 2001 Joe Louis Arena On a concert from Joe Louis arena 2001 Najee was not present so Prince did God Fathers Song on guitar.did anybody attend or maybe heard first and only chance to hear God instrumental live played by Prince on guitar instead of usual sax arrangement from that tour? | |

Wasn't there but the studio recording is one of my favorite guitar playing by Prince. Seems kind of unique for him as well, he didn't play like that a lot. Hey loudmouth, shut the fuck up, right? |

I was there - my husband surprised me with tickets for our 10th anniversary. Sadly, I don't remember this specific moment though, I wish I knew the significance at the time. Not to mention, Joe Louis is not the best venue for concerts and our seats were pretty far from the stage. | |

I was there as well, but I don't remember that. The details from that night are fuzzy, but I do remember being slightly disappointed because the show was similar to the Hit n Run show I saw in Nashville that previous November, and though he played some deep cuts and fan favorites, there were far too many snippets/medleys and the show seemed rushed. |
