I like this album, but how did they decide on that as the cover? I wish they chose something else. I don't want another album with a photo of Prince as the cover. I didn't think there was one official for this album before.

Proof that you really can't please people. Especially Prince fans. lol lol

Do say then, what or whom would you like on Prince's covers instead of Prince? Maybe someone here can put a word in with Sony.

I like album covers with a little more creativity. To be clear, I’m tired of head shots or head and torso with little else. Covers I like are, for example, Around the World in a Day, Sign o the Times, and 1999.

well if this hasn't been mastered for vinyl (which I highly doubt), this will definitely sound worse than the CD pressing, simple facts

Of course it will have been mastered for vinyl, simply because it HAS to be, because vinyl can't handle the volume levels of CD....

And what possible reason or evidence do you have that it wasn't mastered for vinyl?

There are no 'simple facts' anywhere in your post.

And anyone with ears knows that pretty much all Prince's mid-late 90s albums were brickwalled to shit on the CD releases....

All you have to do to know that vinyl version is better than the CD version is listen to it.

But I guess you couldn't be bothered to do that.

Obviously, comprehension doesn't seem to be your thing

Hard to believe I've been on the org for over 25 years now!

I've read through that post three times and I fail to see where that poster didn't comprehend your post.

Blows my mind I have to explain the most basic of sentences for some people here but here we go..

The simple fact is - if this hasn't been mastered for vinyl - and is simply the CD master pressed on vinyl - it will sound worse than the CD version.

I'm sorry but no sensible person can deny that is not a factual statement.

I'm not saying whether it has or hasnt been remastered, I haven't had time to check yet, but "IF" it hasnt been mastered like several other previous releases it WILL sound worse.

If anyone thinks they can argue the logic in that sentence, people on this site are WAY dumber than I thought

Pardon, people (not just here) are quite a bit dumber, than anyone can think. Which is why it's so important to implement kindness as much as possible - the alternative is bleak.

Tell me about it, i withheld my rage at the stupidity as much as I could.. which is why I didn't even bother to pick apart his nonsense line by line.. the Dunning-Kruger effect has never been more obvious..

.

I so rarely post here anymore and moronic comments like those from Ole Bobby boy remind me why..

.

I'm done.

Ole Bobby boy... I guess that's me.... the dumb one.

Okay then.

I you press a CD master straight to vinyl, all you will have is distortion. Vinyl cannot handle the mastering volume of CD.

If you're talking about, has the vinyl been made from digitial source, or have they gone back to the master tapes and mastered it from that, that's a different conversation. But in your infinite wisdom, you can't have meant that, right, because someone as omnipotently knowledgeable all-knowing, all-singing, all-dancing as yourself would never make a mistake, of course.

Nor should someone as holy as you have to lower yourself to actually listening to the vinyl version in question, when clearly spouting unproven bullshit will do.

Such a shame you have to lower yourself to such depths to communicate with the heathens on here.

Dunning-Kruger effect? You are hilarious to me.

Now go outside and jerk yourself a soda. And while you're at it, here's a mirror, take a look in it and get the fuck over yourself.

Jerk.

On the other hand,

let's agree to disagree.

Peace to you. Have a great day.

Something stylistically related to this single cover would’ve been cool. That and a wide release, besides just RSD. I can dream.
