Unboxing of RSD THE TRUTH Vinyl

https://www.youtube.com/w...__LuEc6H2g

The way to go forward with Prince releases. Instead of low-quality scans of CD-sized artwork (Chaos & Disorder...) - have someone re-design the packages. So much more enticing visually.

That looks pretty nice. It's too bad the packaging is better than the record.

I listened to the whole album today for the first time in a long time.

For the most part I enjoyed it. It's still one of my least favourite Prince albums.

I think 3rd Eye and Fascination are excellent, The Truth,Don't Play Me,One Of Your Tears and Comeback are all good.

Everything else is decent, Apart from circle of Amour. That is one of only a handful Prince I don't like.

Overall I would rate it 6/10

Not interested as it’s not been released in the contemporaneously appropriate purple vinyl.

I personally dislike the purple vinyl - I think black is always such a smart neutral colour that will compliment any album artwork - for instance the Rave album has a blue/white colour scheme - so with the purple vinly it makes no sense to me (it clashes) - either leave it black or chime it with the colour scheme!

Hoping for a CD release as I don't buy vinyl or downloads.

The purple vinyl seems to me to be pandering to casual fans - Prince was not all about purple through his whole career.

I know. I purposefully said that my issue was that purple was the appropriate colour for the Truth era in order to try and make is obvious. I won’t resort to that weird upper/lower case mess to denote sarcasm. If it’s over people’s heads it’s either on me or them but it is what it is.

I admit it went straight over my head. You never know with people on here. A well-placed emoji would have helped biggrin

Happy to see it on vinyl.

True but I have an issue with using emojis to make sure that a joke lands. I prefer it to stand on its own. It’s like canned laughter. That’s a me issue though.

I have just got it from the record store. Not too bad, I waited about 45 mins before the store opened. Glad I have it as I have always enjoyed it.

Massive error in the credits for Other Side Of The Pillow. They've used the credits from the ONA box for that one. John, Rhonda, Renato etc.. What a cock up!

I noticed tht the other day. Strange. Also, some of the fonts are different, I guess Parke couldn't remember/track down the ones he used originally. Still nice looking vinyl though.
