If Prince And The Revolution get inducted in R'N'R Hall Of Fame Prince got inducted as a solo artist but If they decide to induct Prince And The Revolution who should be there? Was Dez part of The Revolution(band name was on the 1999 back cover)? Would it be Purple Rain band minus Prince? But if they induct the classic era linup what about the extended Revolution? Are Eric Leeds and Wally Brooks The Revolution as well?

My vote is The Revolution with Dez included...as well as Sheila E and Eric Leeds.
The could all perform a medley of:
Controversy/I Want To Be Your Lover/Little Red Corvette/America/Purple Rain.

Something about this feels like a bit of a stretch. Furthermore, The Revolution was also Jill Jones, Miko, Wally, Jerome, Atlanta, etc etc.

i didn't name all the members but besides Prince ,who else should be in RNR Hall Of Fame if they ever induct the band ,and you never know ,it may happen.E Street got inducted a few years back

No way in hell should the Revolution be inducted separately into the hall of fame. You started a thread on here talking about how overrated Prince is but then you start one considering the hall of fame induction of THE MOST overrated "band" in Prince's history??! Just stop already.
95% of everything you heard came from Prince or his direction. I'm sick of all these barnacles trying to attach themselves to his battleship. It's a joke.

The time should be there before them

YESSSSSS! ( In my Morris voice)!

I love The Time but The Time is Morris Day and Prince

If you feel that way you never saw them live in their hey day. They were unbelievable on tour. The list of bands in RRHOF that they would destroy on stage in loooooooooong!

lol........ZERO chance of that happening. If it were close, they would have been in the 1st time around. FOOLS multiply when WISE Men & Women are silent.

no Revolution members should be inducted...at all... i would vomit daily, knowing that Wendy Melvoin is in the RRHOF while Chaka Khan, Pat Benatar and Dionne Warwick arent.

Ironic you are backing a band who worote little and played little of the music they are known for. Revolution members helped write the first Time album.

lol that no one in the public would think much of this but it'd be Prince fans who will be freaking out with rage. That'd be reason alone for it to happen tbh, which it won't. [Edited 4/28/21 5:38am]

oh lord have mercy lol why on earth would they be inducted?

ALL OF THIS | |

Yes they are a BAD (in a good way) band live but let's keep it 100, they are just a live unit. The studio albums are 99% Prince and Morris. So that's like inducting Milli Vanilli

LMAO THIS | |

I don't think that what i wrote in other thread have to do with this thread.Regarding how overrated the Revolution is.Matt Fink is 1 of the best if not the best keyboard synths player.he could play jazz funk rock.Brown Mark a very solid bassist.Lisa great piano player very uniaue.Bobby Z -his most underrated drummer.not too much flaah but great pocket.Never missed a beat and a pioneer of making linn work live. The only overrated musician in that band is Wendy.above average guitar player.regaring the most overrated band that yitle can go to Live Beatles

Hell, I don't see why they shouldn't be inducted - it'd give the R&RHOF another excuse to honor Prince and his music, as well as giving props to the band that most people remember him playing with. No, they weren't the be-all end-all of Prince's backing musicians, but some of y'all are way too eager to dismiss their contributions entirely

To the Bansihed Bun:
Bullshit. You DID try to go on and on about all the musicians that are better than Prince on various instruments. That's fine for you to have your opinion but to try and say anyone in the Rev is an all time great and recognized as such is laughable. I'm a huge fan of Matt but I can easily use your tatic and name dozens of players that would "chop his head" to use an old jazz parlance. Bernie Worrel, Herbie Hancock, Kenny Kirkland, Joe Zawinul, Chick Corea would all destroy Matt. Now using that tatic is idiotic but I just want to make the "point" you tried to make in the other thread.
Spare us all with how great the Revolution is and how mediocre you think Prince was. We all know that's bullshit!

I would love a full recognition of what Prince did, if even just in that time period of 1981-1987 with his vision bands and proteges. That was a marvelous period

Iof course Prince, but he is no longer with us. And of course this is coming from a fan of the man and purple culture Prince the band 1980-1986/87 and the proteges
