YES. He definitely gets there from time to time.

Often intentionally, like If A Girl Answers Don't Hang Up, International Lover, and Vibrator. Sometimes unintentionally, like Computer Blue, Temptation, Thieves in the Temple, 3 Chains o' Gold, Shhh, Papa, Eye Hate U, Dolphin, and Thunder.

Visually, you can see it in Sheila's band, especially the Romance era, and whatever Prince was wearing / doing with his hair and beard 1990-1995.
