Yes. So wrong. Keep it for the police photographer. Prince would have Hated that. I did too. I'm sure most of us did. I've never looked at it. Didn't want to. Click away very fast if it comes up. [Edited 2/8/21 11:22am]

all I know is I wish I had never seen it. I tried my best not to see it but stumbled across it anyway.

This is my first time hearing about it, but I'm glad to know about it, because I will not view it. That's something that I don't want to see. Although I can understand some being curious, I sttill don't know why anyone would want to see it, especially a Prince fan.

Yes it was wrong and I have absolutely no desire to ever see it.

It was wrong to release it. Disrespectful. Ohh purple joy oh purple bliss oh purple rapture! REAL MUSIC by REAL MUSICIANS - Prince "I kind of wish there was a reason for Prince to make the site crash more" ~~ Ben |

As a Prince fan, I'm saying this: Prince fans cannot be unbiased in the opinion on the photos. JFK's autopsy photos are out there for heaven's sake, with his dead carcass on a slab, his head gaping open on a block. Everyone is eternally fascinated with his assassination and will reenact his death, either with actors or animation, every time the anniversary of his death comes up. Prince isn't different. Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

Not wrong. If you are looking at a police evidence file you need to take responsibility for what you might see.

So here we go another beacon for the random aholes under guise to post the pictures while pretending to be talking about something else. The internet is full of aholes. Why keep bring stuff up? If you wanna see them go look, you don't need validation. I saw the death pictures being on this site, not by going though the files, not because someone brazzenly posted them but thru a link to some innoculus article about an associate that happened to have them displayed right up front and center. i didn't get a say in what I decided for myself to see. I don't give a fig what somebody decides for themselves or their opinion about it. I am sick of aholes being aholes and deciding for me. Time keeps on slipping into the future...

I remember all of the press briefings surrounding the investigation and talk of respect, dignity and privacy. Then they go and release the photos. What the actual F? Well, I have viewed them once and that was enough. I don't care to ever see them again. "I like to watch."

I do think releasing them is the ultimate violation of a person's privacy. Does it mean that once you're dead, your privacy doesn't matter anymore? Now, having seen them didn't affect me any more than having been to a wake or funeral.

I think it was wrong that it was released for the public to view, but I made a conscious decision to never look at it and to date, I have not. So, just because it was released does not mean you have to view it.

It wasn't really the authorities who released it, they just put up the files on their site. Of course journalists browse through it and release it then. At the end of the day, it's police files and if you download them to browse through, you're ought to see something that might upset you. That said, I'm glad these pics weren't graphic at all, even though he died of an OD (I've seen the pics of philip seymour hoffman, unintentionally and it scarred me for life). With Prince, it looked like he was asleep and would wake up any moment.
So all in all, Journalists are journalists and the cops just uploaded these files the way it's done. They don't leave out these pics and you can decide for yourself if you want to look through them. Hell, we have JFK's autopsy pics and Dude got his head blown away. So, yeah, upsetting, but that's how it is and always has been I guess.

You can't see photos of the 'average joe' death scene. I couldn't look up my mom's photos. Just sayin'... "I like to watch."

It was in the National Enquirer. I saw it, didn't bother me, he looked peaceful. All you others say Hell Yea!!

Goody for you. No still means no. And there's absolutely no justication needed. THAT'S a violation, no one owes anyone an explantion for why they say no. It's not blocking anyone who wants to. Time keeps on slipping into the future...

Anyone who says "well I looked at them and they didn't affect me." The only point to that is if it didn't affect them then how could it affect snyone else. It definitely isn't an answer to any question to why they shouldn't because no one had made such a statement because no one cares. Time keeps on slipping into the future...

We're all adults w/ the choice to look or not look.
It was unfortunate they were posted but no one forced anyone to open them.

I did say they were presented as something else. Then again maybr you're ok with encouraging thst kind of behavior. Again excuses to violate another's personal decisions. Time keeps on slipping into the future...

Seriously, you really want to dictate how people describe their experiences while looking at these pictures? Just because someone says it didn't effect them doesn't mean they pressure you to look at these pictures.

Nowhere have I dictated to anyone what they should want to look at or told them how to feel about it. No one in here even asked anyone how they felt. I'm discussing what has actually happened when these discussions get full blown. Not an ounce of projection. Yet here you are getting upset with me because I'm saying no one has the right to make that decision for anyone else. No one has the right to even passively guilt shame anyone who doesn't want to see them. Time keeps on slipping into the future...
