There's a lot of truth in this post. Every culture deals with their dead differently...matter of perspective.

I've never wanted to see them. I've been in the official investigation files and never purposely or accidentally saw one pic. I'll say it a trillion times if I have to. I don't need anyone to make decisions for me based on their personal views. After 5 years who in their right mind needs dead body pix for closure over a person they never met? Speaking as an over involved fan going on 43 years. Sell that crap elsewhere.

I'm happy to say to this day I haven't seen those photos.

Me neither. I can't imagine or picture it adding anything to my life. I guess some people needed/wanted to see those photos but I can't calculate any net positive that might come out of viewing something so morbid.

Probably half the people that dove in to check them out were internet detectives trying to prove a murder/suicide or something but. Nah. Y'all can keep it. I never even understood things like open casket funerals and viewings. It's not how I like to remember people but some religions and like to do that shit.

At least I can decide for myself and, speaking for me only, I'll take a pass but others seem to think it's important for some reason. As if they're trying to solve a crime that never took place and looking for answers to questions that need not be asked. I personally don't need to see Prince's dead body and can't think of a way that it might improve my life but that's just me I guess.

Personally, I had to see them. I think it depends on how you process grief, and also your history. I lost my Dad when I was 16, and there was an open casket wake. Not saying that seeing Prince like that resolved my greif, but it did help.

I can't stand open caskets...but that may be because I was taken to my Great Grandmother's funeral when I was four years old to view the body and when my Great Uncle--a big strapping man--fell to his knees and started wailing at the casket, I was terrified and started crying and screaming. They had to take me outside. To this day, I can't abide open caskets and hate funerals. confused

I thought it was disrespectful to show them on the news channels. But when I went through EVERY document in the investigative files(whom I had to know EVERY detail) The inevitable happened & I viewed them. Surprisingly I felt a peacefulness over me viewing them. Prince(r.i.p.) looked sleep, relieved & @ peace. His skin was as smooth as a babies bottom. He didn't look like he suffered & was free of the pain & agony of being here on earth.

Wrong. I have never seen a picture of him when he was born so why would I need to see one of him when he is dead? I know that he is gone (and hopefully has found peace) and I know that there was drug use in his life but I don't ever want to see those pictures. Why would I want to have that image in my mind for the rest of my life? I've had closure with his passing and that's all that I need. If others want to view them it's their choice.

I seriously am starting to believe the choice pendulum has swung all the way over. Instead of censorship now one must have every thing under the sun smashed into their face or they are in some kind of denial. Nobody is happy with having their choices until they can force them on everybody else it seems. It's weird.

Death does not scare me. I think we all needed to see it. What I did not like was the tabloids like TMZ and others who splashed it around like dirty washing. They have no repsect and just love to dig dirt and gossip. Diane Diamond that gossiping lying bitch runs TMZ (She was of Hardcopy fame) and also terroised Michael Jackson.

.

I actually saved them to a folder, but I can see that many fans and Prince himself would never want such a thing out.

.

Death and bodies has never deterred me, decomposition fascinates and I have always been obsessed with skulls, ghosts and death.

I got plenty good loving for ya baby

  • The fall-out from his death should have been handled more thoughtfully and openly.

Now you have the murder conspiracy theorists, the Illuminati fans, the folks who

think Prince was a passive victim in the entire situation and more.

Other musicians like Tom Petty, Aretha, Michael had proper funerals and the truth was provided.

Anyone who says "well I looked at them and they didn't affect me." The only point to that is if it didn't affect them then how could it affect snyone else. It definitely isn't an answer to any question to why they shouldn't because no one had made such a statement because no one cares.

The photos were released as many are these days. It can be upsetting and everyone

needs to be an adult and decide whether it is for them or not.

What I don't care for is that several posters have come here 3-4 times

to shame those who looked.

Let's stop the holier-than-though comments judging those who did look.

It just is none of your business what other people choose to do.
