Yeah, this show is bad ass. Fired it up on my TV for better sound and can't walk away.

Watched Adore 4 times now. Superb. Crazy decision to not play it on the tour. Maybe he realised that since he played it on the Lovesexy tour. . The other thing of note is his lack of undies. The little guy was packing that's for sure

I just watched it. It‘s absolutely incredible - I almost felt like I was there. It‘s strange to think how familiar we have become with his shows over the years - and yet it still feels fresh. That shows how good his liveshows were. The „Beautiful Night“ Jam was my personal highlight - too funky 😎 See the man with the blue guitar, maybe one day he`ll be a star...

The pre-show interviews explained why the crowd was dead. This show was to celebrate Paisley Park opening and to schmooze the local business people and the band’s family members etc. Only a few hundred young fans around the stage. I think Miko hugs his parents at some point.

I'm not really that big on U Got the Look. It's one of my least faves of his hits but god damn does he sell that shit. That chugging guitar riff...

I loved Cat when I saw this band back in the day! As for beats, way less programing than when The Revolution was his band. You could tell duringa couple if songs like You've Got The Look when Sheila came out from there were still beats being played but overall I think she played most of it. The crowd was there for a benefit so who knows if they were all big fans or not. It did seem like there were not a lot of people there and they were lowin the mix. Cool show but I thought they were way more dynamic on The Lovesexy Tour.

The screening at Pailsey Park was awesome. I need a new TV, it was flawless on the big screen. For the folks talking about the crowd, that's how shows at Paisley Park were. It was never like seeing a roaring crowd in a stadium. TRUE BLUE

This performance was fantastic to see via the Youtube premier. Great audio quality and the video was decent as well. The crowd, just like the Utrecht gig, are just not super high in the mix. Mix that with it being a smaller venue thus a smaller crowd, they aren't in the mix much but in the video you can see them having a good time

This was filmed on 3/4 inch tape which was used up until the late 90s. 3/4 inch tape was not high definition, in fact it's called standard definition and it had this soap opera-ish warmth to it. It would be a nightmare to calibrate with stage lights, etc. It's also very difficult to make a standard definition video into an HD clip because you lose details.

It's more a fault with camera technology at the time then the resolution (HD vs SD). Video cameras could not handle low light well, would get blown out by bright light, and certain colors like saturated reds or blues resulted in noise/static and complete loss of detail, and there was ghosting on movement (seen really bad in the Purple Rain concert). Still, the camera man missed his split on Housequake and the sequencesed splits with the mic stand later. You had one job! And seriously, Matthew with the balloons, what an epic fail. You basically perfect your own Craft, but the people around you is hired like it's the amateur hour.

AvocadosMax said: mediumdry said: it's a small crowd. That paid $200 per person.. it's not a regular concert crowd. And there's not many of them. That makes for a different atmosphere. Kinda like an aftershow. The small club crowd also doesn't sound loud. Personally, I prefer the crowd to not be in the recording much. They get in the way. I love the Utrecht show as well, that's about as loud as a crowd should ever be, imo. I’d agree with most other artists, but master showmen like Prince, James Brown, etc they need the crowd noise heard with the way they interact with the crowd (all them chants Prince does sound awkward af when we don’t hear anyone chanting back) But when you look at the crowd, you see plenty of people dancing, clapping, singing. So it must be the mix. If you take any of this seriously, you're a bigger fool than I am.

I'm only halfway through and most of my comments have been made alrady but here goes: F-ing amazing, much better to have than the SOTT movie (which I love). I also was annoyed that the camera missed the HQ split and that Cat dance costume change went on forever and was in slmost complete darkness -Cat's "dancing" has aged the least well IMO. I remember loving it at the time but now it's a bit embarrassing. I'm glad I'm not the first to point out him going commando - pretty hard to miss. If he's not wearing bikini briefs, then he'll just show it all!! The band was incredible. The great thing was watching a show that included material that was obviously highly rehearsed and polished but also felt like it was in transition and a bit of free-form. Kind of like seeing the Hamilton cast perform at the White House. A little stripped down (no sets) and with the exciting edge of a one-off where anything goes. "That's becuase we're soulless auttomatons"
