I might be deaf, but I don't hear anything on Wally. Spotify or my CDs. Surely nothing that should be distracting.

Hey loudmouth, shut the fuck up, right?

The outro to 'Rebirth of the Flesh' has obviously been 'reconstituted'/rebuilt from an earlier (and alternate) mix (Susannah colead vocals, differently processed drum machine, synth bass left in), that portion at least perhaps taken from a cassette and lobbed on awkwardly. Interesting to hear, but what kind of - ending is that?

.

I suppose that the true master copy was modified for sequencing on CB'86 ('Welcome to the Crystal Ball')?

.

The Horns parts sound completely out of key because of that. Adding some kind of unwanted tremolo effect to it. That's very distracting for me.

The whole set is awesome. Already put together a tight 49 minute final "Prince & The Revolution" album out of it (including '98's version of "Crystal Ball" + The Hits/B-Sides version of "Power Fantastic" just because it's shorter). "Walkin' In Glory" is unbelievable...maybe my favorite. Y'all can hear that "2 Nigs United 4 West Compton" from The Black Album is in that one, right?

Yeah, basically. But Susannah's on it...And plus, there's obviously many tracks credited to "Prince + The Revolution" that Prince did everything on. That track to me is the natural progression of the psychedelic Revolution sound...and IMO, Prince's greatest masterpiece. I'm surprised it's not praised by more people.

Definitely...And plus, "Dream Factory" was always considered a Revolution track...being the title track for their aborted album. But once again, only Susannah was on it...Prince did everything else.

But here's the tracklist for the album I mentioned. Practically half & half Prince/Revolution...It just has a great flow for me.

"Power Fantastic"
1. Crystal Ball ('98 Version)
2. A Place In Heaven (Lisa Vocal)
3. Witness 4 The Prosecution ("Version 1")
4. Walkin' In Glory
5. Colors
6. In A Large Room With No Light
7. Train
8. When The Dawn Of The Morning Comes
9. All My Dreams
10. Power Fantastic (The Hits/B-Sides Version)

I'm adding Walking In Glory on my Black Album playlist
Where would you place it? Or would it be a good B side?

.
.
Walkin' In Glory is a gospel track recorded on 7 December 1986 at Sunset Sound in Hollywood, California on the same day as Bob George. Engineer Susan Rogers said he may have recorded Walkin' In Glory that day "to compensate" for Bob George. It is unknown if, but unlikely, that the song was intended for his next album, Sign O' The Times, or any other project.

After the session yield the track, Prince did a jam session with him on bass and Sheila E. on drums that would be developed into 2 Nigs United 4 West Compton, two days later, but part of the jam was also mixed into the second half of Walkin' In Glory. -PrinceVault

The audio issues on Wally are so small, it doesn’t ruin it. It still sounds damn good. Damn-near the best thing he ever did [Edited 9/24/20 12:24pm]

I agree. There is a slight warble but it doesn't spoil the song for me and I only probably noticed it because I was looking for it.

The warble of the tape reel is just is what it is. Better than trying to edit it and all that. Leave it as is. Wasn't supposed to come out anyway so be thankful. I'm sure he didnt think twice after he put it up in the vault.

I think it’s perfectly reasonable to expect perfect sound from the master tapes, and there should be transparency when there is an issue. It doesn’t mean we are unappreciative.

If it happened on "Strange Relationship (1987 Shep Pettibone Club Mix)", I almost wouldn't care. But we're talking about "Wally", here. It's a brilliant song, which I love. I'm grateful it exists at all. I'm just surprised (it never happened before) and disappointed.

Somewhat shocked at some of the reservations about Wally's mix. I've listened to it maybe 10 times already, and the goosebumps are still going up on my arms.

Now that I'm putting it under the microscope I sort of get what everyone is saying, but for me to care about it in that way, his guitar solo is going to have to get way way farther through me. I'm still shaking from it. It's up there with I Hate U, maybe even better. He's on exactly the right suspended notes to make me a little scared to move!

What a beuatiful song, I don't hear any kind of problem with the audio quality, then again I'm not good at that, on spotify I hear no difference between the remastered version and regular one.

Same hear.
Too bad the only issue I've heard so far is on Wally.
Loving the whole set otherwise & very grateful apart from that.

There's Something I Like About Being Your Fool is the track I keep going back to. Nothing spectacular but I dig his reggae efforts. Also interesting hearing him mention, like in Adore, about smashing up his ride

I wasn't a fan of Wally until this release, I thought the lyrics were almost bordering on scratch lyrics before, despite the mythology around it.

Whatever they did to it, it sounds epic now. The warble or whatever it is, is on the leak too, I think my brain just treats it like an intentional effect at this point.

I think they did a better job on these than previous Deluxes.

I thought the original outro to Rebirth Of The Flesh ended with a loud voice talking slowly (it does on the boot version). Anyone know what it said/what it sequenced to?

This ending here sounds just a messily cobbled together one taken from another source.
