It seems the only snippet of unreleased songs is Everybody Want What They Don't Got

Right. Too much talk (no snippets...it's torture to wait 15 days!) even if it's interesting to hear. "Money won't buy U happiness but it'll pay 4 the search."

- That's what I like about these podcasts. The music needs to remain unheard until it's release. OK, that's my mho of course. I understand the urge to hear it all right now. Prince loved mysteries and teased us so many times. See it as an old school tease. - So he had send a package of his favourites 'spare-ribs' from Minneapolis to L.A. by plane... ? Weird guy, or just too rich. Love the Larry Waronker story about the UTCM film preview. So he ran, took off, and started to work harder?! (I'm happy (now) for this movie. It gave us so many things like 'wreckastow' etc.) - Another thing, something I think of a lot, how the hell did he recorded songs all by his own so fast? So apparently when he plays the acoustic drums, he plays it all alone said Susan Rodgers. How amazing is that ! Hearing it all in his head already, everything; beginning, arrangements, end. Fucking amazing and mind blowing. And that he could slice tape ! Cool. - A good thing Gilbert came in with that L.A. Times newspaper, on Sunday July 13, 1986. By Wednesday July 16, (maybe) the whole idea of cutting the tripple album to the known SOTT was actually born, when he finished that song... - Did Prince ever held a diary ? -

- I'm looking forward to read her text though. Thought it was very interesting, and to the point. It shines a light on things, that, as a European I'm not always aware of. Great stuff. - "The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves. And wiser people so full of doubts" (Bertrand Russell 1872-1972)

Good podcast. I'm hoping they talk to Miko and others eventually. Here is what Miko said on his facebook page about the topic:
he was never a jerk during my time with him!
not all true if you were in the room like I have been This is all so funny for me! I'm there since 1983 and know much more than what I've read by people who weren't in the same room including past engineers. Which many times on many tracks I've seen only himself working the controls that the engineers set up and then asked to leave! Many have forgotten that I was actually there with him
it was all him! Others where just others! People crying now mega years late? Pat's on the back bullshit! I'm sad because he can't tell his side of the story but I can but don't want to call folks liars!
confirmed? By a witness or a book? I'm sorry to say that he has told me things directly to my face! Maybe you too as well? Why should anyone care about credits unless one's ego needs feeding and a pat on the funking back!

Come on Miko...just get on a podcast with Michael Dean or the Peach and Black Podcasters and give us your input. You already have credibility in that you've been silent forever.

Great but why is it censored? Beep beep beep.

Ugh, that professor. Please fuck off with that nonsense.

Strive said: Ugh, that professor. Please fuck off with that nonsense. Yep as toxic and polarizing as politics is, we don’t need to hear that shit lol

I don't think it was nonsense. I do think that it was a bit misplaced and perhaps forced. I don't consider SOTT to be an album where he addressed race issues. I do think that SOTT was a concerted effort to distance himself from the pop image that had become his brand, but he did not really tackle race directly on the album the way he did later in his life. With that said, he did tackle social issues in general on the album so I understand getting a scholar to talk about what was going on at the time. Looking forward to hearing from the black folks that were in the band, in the studio, etc. in the future episodes.

i used to live in the apartment bldg over Rudolph's Rib joint/Bar...on the corner of Franklin and Lyndale...i used to see Jellybean and Monte and Jessie there alot... never saw Prince... cant believe he would fly their food out to LA... Ted Cooks (E. 38th) ribs are/were WAY better than Rudolph's and they have beef or pork... Rudolphs just had swine ribs...i thought P didnt eat the swine?

This episode was one of those moments where you are starkly reminded of not only how GREAT Prince was but also how taken for granted we, as fans, have become. Prince is the GOAT. You'll never know a girl called Nikki and you'll never find Erotic City

I found this one a bit boring...the professor had some interesting point but I couldn't help but think Prince would have rolled his eyes and turned it all off

now that you mention it, i do remember reading Owen Husney say he set up P in his first apt on Franklin Ave and bought him some instruments...didint know it was on the Uptown End of Franklin Ave though...i lived there from 93 - 96, well after P lived in the neighborhood... i think at that time Jellybean was part owner of Rudolph's if im not mistaken.

It really is nonsense. It's pretty clear that Sign O The Times is continuation of Prince's long held belief that we are (or in his case, were) living in the end days.
