Which format will you buy Sign Super Deluxe on?

When the Sign Super deluxe was announced I immediately placed an order for the vinyl set.

Then when looking through the track listing of the Vault material I started to think I doubt I will really want to listen to the tracks in that order.

I started to think of different playlist and putting them together and how I would probably spend most of my time listening to my playlists.

So I have now ordered the CD version of the set as well and will probably cancel the vinyl set a few days before the release set.

What set are others going for?

I've ordered both. I missed out on the vinyl of the 1999 Deluxe set and regretted not springing for it. But I've started a new job since then with a lot more disposable income (plus my spend is less because of lockdown) so I figured why not!

Sign is my favorite album of all time, so for me it's more about enjoying the larger format, pictures, packaging, etc. Most of my listening will likely be, as you say, not in the chronological order of the tracklisting.

CD since that is the format I originally bought it back in 87. I just did the download for 1999 and regret I didn't get it in a physical format.

CDs. LPs are simply just not in the budget right now. Hell, the CDs aren't in the budget either, but going to try to work some birthday/Christmas magic early.

Vinyl for me.

I will play the vinyl in its order when I want that, and will also do needledrops of the whole thing to have in iTunes and for streaming and will make my 'Hyper Deluxe' Version of Sign O The Times, just as I have done for 1999.

The 1999 vinyl set was truly a thing of beauty, visuall and aurally - superbly produced and put together. No way I'd want to NOT have that for Sign.

CD to have and to hold, but I'll probably do all of my listening on Spotify, as I've done with the others, since my only CD player is a PS3 with a fan that shrieks like a chainsaw. lol

I love vinyl but having to change sides every a couple songs for LONG albums like this is a NO.

So far I have pre ordered...

1 x Super Deluxe Vinyl
1 x Super Deluxe CD
2 x Peach Editions Vinyl
2 x Remastered CD
1 x 24bit HD Digital

I'm considering getting a few more remastered CDs for friends. I'll see how things go nearer the time of release. I'm hoping that the official SOTT merch will be available from UK outlets. I can't be bothered to order Prince.com. Call me fussy, but when I buy things online I like them arriving within a year and preferably unbroken.

Vinyl SDE, but i likely won't touch the records much as I'm a bit of a twat like that - I won't dare play the 1999 SDE records cuz its a one and done and I am paranoid about wearing shit out. I'll probably pirate a lossless rip and use that as my true source.

SuperDeluxe CD. I don't have a lot of interest in outtakes on vinyl, or even vinyl reissues.

Pre-ordered Super Deluxe on CD+DVD on Amazon at $10 less than it's listed for now, and also decided to get in on the limited 1987 pressings of the vinyl singles. Vinyl is more of a "I have this so I can display it" kinda thing - I may not even open the singles collection, but will definitely open and rip the SOTT SDE CD+DVD set.

I ordered the huge vinyl set with the large format book because an "onine source" said that it came with an autorip download code.

True or do I still need to pay for digital?

Welcome to "the org", laytonian… come bathe with me.

Oh boy. Now I'm wondering if I should also order the CD box set. With 1999, I bought both the vinyl and CD box sets. I've ordered the vinyl box set and the singles box set for Sign. Will I regret not buying the CD box set of sign? I might. Should I?

CD. I'm fortunate enough to be able to afford all versions, but I long gave up becoming a sucker to 'limited' releases.

Just the CD set this time. I went all out for 1999 with the vinyl set, 2 copies of the CD set, and even the 2-disc CD set, so I need to be a bit more budget-conscious this time. lol

I preorder the Sign O’ The Times SD edition on the CD format. Nevertheless, I will listen to it on Tidal streaming services.

The CD Super Deluxe Set. There are not many albums I would spend this much on in terms of physical CDs however this album and the extra content and amazing looking book and packaging makes this something I know I will cherish for a long time. Just as I do with the 1999 CD set
