He could be telling the truth, but I still think Warner is gonna have one last gasp of air with a release in December or so... have something out for Christmas time, probably another compilation like Originals II. |

So apparently, we’re getting the New Years concert because the movie rights are tangled up and confusing but the rights to the actual concerts used in it (Rotterdam and Belgium) count too so audio nor video of those concerts are able to be used legally |

I am likely to do the same. I have waited ages for this release but cannot justify an extra £100 for a dvd and a book.
What a shame that pricing isn't consistent with 1999 SDE. Yes, I know there is more material but not enough to justify a £100 difference in value.
1999 SDE was available for £60- £70 depending where you looked so I expected this to be between £80 - £90. But £143? Fuck that. |

Dont think you need to get the itunes as even the Vinyl will come with the Mp3 code (right? SD 1999 did)
I get the CDs for archival purposes and because am a completist moron.

Love SDE...check it every morning. Paul always does a great job with the interviews.
.
Answered my question on why Wally has no version #. If a cassette of Version 1 really existed, was really hoping maybe Susannah had it in safe keeping. Or, maybe she does...

Caved in and preordered the CDs...my wife asked if it was a collectors item....and that influenced me to just get it done.
Its birthday and Christmas present rolled into 1

Strange. Perhaps they have had better than expected demand?
My pre-order is still showing £143. I wonder if they'll have the cheek to cancel it.

Interesting claim that the extended Dorothy Parker doesn’t seem to exist. What was the original source of info about it?
Well, the horn version is longer, so was that the 'extended mix' intended for the 12"?
Would seem logical. He had a different version for a 12" in the can all along.

If Prince(r.i.p.) had intentions 4 Dorothy Parker to be a single it was most definitely a long 12" version of it. Listening to the original faded at the end version on SOTT confirms that. "That mountain top situation is not really what it's all cracked up 2 B when was doing the Purple Rain tour had a lot of people who knew 'll never c again @ the concerts.just screamin n places they thought they was suppose 2 scream." |

Had no email yet, i paid 143. This is the longest i have been waiting for a confirm email from amazon. Call me worried. But it should be honoured by law. [Edited 6/26/20 12:30pm] |

The horn version is a minute longer, so based on what Michael Howe found, the horn version is the long version.

Thanks. Very interesting. The extended version of "The Ballad of Dorothy Parker" and the original version of "Wally": they looked for those but couldn't find them. Howe thinks the extended version of DP doesn't exist. About "Wally": "We searched every corner to determine if there was even a rough mix of that, or a cassette version, and we could not find it."
