Cool, as promised I jumped on that pre order like a wild beast. Hopefully the next classic album to get the Super Deluxe Edition treatment will be Around the World in a Day.
It would be great to get all those vinyl only 12" tracks on a cd set, but there wouldn't be much in the way of vault tracks or live material.
Maybe that's how they could do 2 SDE sets a year. One of them extensive like 1999 or SOTT, one of them less so like ATWIAD or Black Album.

You know, if you want to listen to the original Dream Factory you can do that, if you want to listen to Camille as it was originally envisioned, you can do that." -> Indeed we can listen to close approximations, and it's cool, but not the exact configs as envisioned if only because some released mixes are still slightly different than the mixes on some configs, not to mention the space between tracks and crossfades. Please do not assume we do not know our sh**, Mr. Howe. Now I'm not saying this is a problem with this particular SOTT Deluxe release, it's cool as it is and indeed too many alternate tracks would have been redundant, I totally agree. But you know what to do to make fans happy for Record Stores Day: release the configs as such. Make it 1987 vinyl and CD collectors' copies if you will, then don't be cheap and after maybe one or 2 or 3 years just put it on streming services or Bandcamp. No harm done, more money for the estate, fans happy
RSD releases, on LP AND CD, of alternate configurations is a no-brainer. Let's hope they get that.

I love Record Store Day and would wait patiently for the Estate to realise how much fans would appreciate this. Even if it's just one a year for Dream Factory, Camille and Crystal Ball. And for good measure would still love to see Strange Tales From The Rain get a RSD remaster release! |

I've NEVER seen this place so excited over a Prince(r.i.p.) release! Even my favorite all time album 1999 Super Deluxe didn't get this much excitement. "That mountain top situation is not really what it's all cracked up 2 B when was doing the Purple Rain tour had a lot of people who knew 'll never c again @ the concerts.just screamin n places they thought they was suppose 2 scream." |

I always wait and buy day 1 at my local wrecka stow, but, I don't want to risk missing out on this because of distribution issues or something. Just did the amazon pre-order on the 8CD/DVD. Don't hate your neighbors. Hate the media that tells you to hate your neighbors. |

It will, they always do. With that book, packaging and limited release, maybe not as low as we'd like, but it will drop.

My initial OCD triggered horror at the physical size of the CD set in terms of how my CD shelves will no longer be complete is now mitigated by the knowledge that we get the 12” book and how the 12 inch sized German special edition of the movie will sit nicely next to the super deluxe set for a complete expanded super deluxe set.
Personally I’m really happy about the rights issue meaning that get Miles from the Park instead of the movie as that’s already available and this is something new and hopefully in better quality than what’s circulating. If the milk turns out to be sour, I aint the kinda pussy to drink it! |

It is going 2 be hard trying 2 top this release. I agree. I think a Parade release might come close but this is probably going to be the greatest package of pop music ever released We already know that the outtakes are nearly all of extremely high quality. It is going to be a tough 3 months waiting. |
