Well, the horn version is longer, so was that the 'extended mix' intended for the 12"?

Would seem logical. He had a different version for a 12" in the can all along.

The horn version is a minute longer, so based on what Michael Howe found, the horn version is the long version.

Thanks. Very interesting. The extended version of "The Ballad of Dorothy Parker" and the original version of "Wally": they looked for those but couldn't find them. Howe thinks the extended version of DP doesn't exist. About "Wally": "We searched every corner to determine if there was even a rough mix of that, or a cassette version, and we could not find it."
