He Did Not!~ Quest did Not play anything from SOTT SD (the Few tracks for SOTT he played, DID say 2020 Remaster) and the tracklist floating around is FAKE, that was NOT part of Questlove's stream. The picture you saw was photoshopped and they are using Quest to spread false information.

The nonsense Quest tells about the movie. No, the movie was not shot in August 1983. Hell, there are plenty of stories on the first scenes being shot while it was snowing in Minneapolis, and that did of course not happen in AUGUST.

He has gone against the Estate, he has gone against Warners, he has gone against the fans.

IF indeed that’s what he’s done as opposed
to just scrolled through tracks on his hard drive from the era, then nothing is spoilt. We all want to know what will be on the set (if there is one)

Caveat. I’ve not watched the 4 hour video so if I’ve missed something more profound then that’s why.

Why would he even have access to the set at this point anyway?

He played a Remasered 2020 track someone connected to the estate gave him, and he's not hiding what he's playing. He gushed about the clarity and played the intro to Housequake like 20 times.

What he's doing is informally sanctioned.

This doesn't cheapen an official announcement. The rumors were already out there.

All Quest does is scroll through the track listings.

Also, it's ridiculous to say someone obsessing over Prince, and playing his music is the same as wanting to be Prince or replacing Prince. Half the show is comparing versions and nerding out appreciaing Prince. It's harmless, and just celebrates him.

Spoiling what? These are 30 year old recordings lol. All in all Questlove is just a fan like us, who happens to be a really succesful drummer who can both be a fan and in touch with the Prince estate. I wouldn't take it all too seriously, it is just awesome funky music to enjoy at the end of the day

That took me COMPLETELY out! The one with Prince's(r.i.p.) vocals is FAR superior to the released version!
