. Ah yes, those well-known experts. .
. Go ahead, look at all the evidence we know and produce that list. Go ahead. I bet you won't, since this is bullshit. . Yes, on RARE occasions Prince recorded multiple songs a day. Notice the word RARE. © Bart Van Hemelen

Is it possible that this is just Questlove’s private SOTT era playlist, and not the actual Super Deluxe playlist, before we all get our knickers in a twist? "That's when stars collide. When there's space for what u want, and ur heart is open wide."

lol yes 1000%. | |

. Of course it is possible. It'd be a bit of a dick move to add "2020 remaster" to the tracks if they weren't from an official remaster of this year though. . To me, it seemd quite legit. And he is being a bit cute about it during the set. All seems par for the course for Q, he likes to show he has stuff before us mere mortals. (and he often does have it before most ) . In this case, even Casey Rain seems to think it is legit, so it must be, right? Paisley Park is in your heart - Love Is Here!

. How many fucking times do we need to say IT IS NOT. . The list I posted contains the track numbers as shown by Questlove. Now, can you count to 100? Can you spot the missing ones? . Sheesh. Don't act exasperated, you love shit like this to derail threads with.

Yes I think it's extremely likely.

So 10 tracks missing if this list is legit.
The most likely candidates are. Rebirth of The Flesh Dream Factory Crystal Ball full version Joy in Rep with Original intro Movie Star Last Heart Sexual Suicide Data Bank Girl O my dreams I Can't Stop This Feeling I Got We Can Funk Witness 86 Crucial sax version Wally Cosmic Day Coco Boys Conversation Piece 3 Nigs Watching A Kung Fu Movie. I don't think the Crystal Ball 98 tracks will be included and I also think Cosmic Day will be omitted. It has been so goddam elusive for years and I have a strong feeling it will be the one grail song never to be released. [Edited 6/9/20 7:26am]

If u are looking 4 the songs on the Vaul site...the list is not complete...there are few others that could be included IMO ! [Edited 6/9/20 7:32am] [Edited 6/9/20 7:46am]

"Sometimes he'd be brushing his teeth upstairs, would come down and say 'Can we go again' as in 'fresh tape'. Marathon sessions, not sleeping for a few days, recording multiple songs - that's on record . The world's problems like climate change can only be solved through strategic long-term thinking, not expediency. In other words all the govts. need sacking!

I thought "Dream Factory", "Last Heart", and "Sexual Suicide" were released? They were but with the exception of Sexual Suicide, they are relevant to this release. Are they included? No idea. But I would not be surprised to see Dream Factory there as it's intro is and I'd not be surprised to see a mix of CB since the 7" is there.

Any guesses as to what's up with "Nevaeh Ni Ecalp (02:33)"? The segue on Dream Factory was less than a minute long, so I'm curious as to what this is and why it's 2 and a half minutes

. You lot need to learn about hyperbole or figure of speech. . Read Duane Tudahl's book, make a list of all the songs recorded in 1983-1984 and then come back here and post your list. © Bart Van Hemelen

The Estate can't win on this one. We all have different views as to what should be on there. .
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Can I ask a dumb question? If we are thinking Questlove has access to the set before anyone else does, are we then saying he was given access by the estate? Would that then seem likely if that same estate is making him remove Facebook Live posts of sets with Prince's music featured? Then if not the estate, who? I'm trying to understand how dude gets stuff before the general public. Not bootlegs. I mean legit releases (like this would seem to indicate)...
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
All this confusion, discussion about the tracklist shows that `the Estate` and/or WB has no tight control on the info. So they should not announce an announcement date. They should simply drop the announcement, including tracklist. This solves the confusion, etc. about the tracklist. Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

First rule of promotion: Build anticipation. You can't just show your cards before getting dealt a full hand. I wouldn't be suprised if the estate isn't part of this "leaked" info in order to get people discussing it. They have total control...believe me.

You all seriously need to calm down . Personally, I never got into bootlegs, so I don't know any of these songs. So that would be all brand new for me. . I mean so glad I waited patiently twenty years, hoping it would be released in good quality one day. . I was a little disappointed by 1999 deluxe, but it made me spend dozens of hours to apprehend this new material. Beside Rearrange ( which is very similar to Lady cab driver) and Do yourself a favor ( which is a cover) there was nothing extraordinary in this set. . But the novelty of it for me was very enjoyable. . I don't expect much from this SOTT deluxe, except there will be one hour more of new material, so again dozens of hours of pleasure listening to come! . And, of course, more charts and sales

. He likely does, due to him being someone who'd help promote the set. Plenty of other people will also have at least heard this set. Paul from SDE had already heard 1999SD when it was announced and had IIRC an interview with Michael Howe in the can and a track-by-track preview. Just like movie reviewers get advance screenings, just like TV reviewers get episodes weeks in advance. .
. This often involves software recognizing songs it its db. It's automated. . © Bart Van Hemelen

They know things you don't know. Questlove having it and giving a sneak preview is not something they're unaware of. Quest would not burn that bridge and the estate obviously gave him a copy.

That's A Place In Heaven - both of which are represented on this tracklist. The title backwards refers to an intro track with loops and samples of various Dream Factory songs on a bed of A Place In Heaven reversed.
