You're reaching, as usual. You really don't get singers cutting songs short to fit more into a show? Have you not seen any Prince concert ever??? He was cutting things short in Purple Rain Tour, and probably before; and definitely after. Now suddenly because he got himself into some dogma, you think "When U Were Mine" - opposed to all his other songs - he's cutting the 2nd verse because of that??? Nothing else, just that song, huh?

The question is obtuse.

He cut entire songs from his setlists before, changed lyrics like he did in "The Cross", it's hardly unbelievable to think he'd cut a verse for similar reasons...

No he didnt sing the second vetse on Montreux 2009.check again.as a matter of fact i heard at least 10 live recordings post 2000 and none had the second verse

He did. I was listening to it when I wrote that, just to confirm my memory was correct. I'm afraid you're wrong on that one. Second verse intact at Montreux 2009, second show.

Unfortunately, I don't have access to those 21 Nights performances right now, but I suspect he sang it on those ocassions as well.

Not sure about other times post-2002.
