I would suspect your stereo for the treble and bass issues.
Volume can be compensated.
If we could get a 1999-type remaster of Lovesexy that could help...
We shouldnt have to adjust that for only certain albums etc? you see, thats what he is talking about..a remastering or update for todays sound and volume..stop acting obtuse..you mugs killme with that shit, knowing dman good and well the old cds are low in EVERYTHING that has nothing to do with ones stere-ery-o.
thank you rdhull. Next thing this dude is going to say is that SOTT sounds good on CD? |

You assume all albums should be played with the same settings, if changed at all from default?
Did you check a decent CD-collection to verify that assumption? Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry. |

Hey everybody. This kid thinks SOTT lo-fi sound is simply an eq check issue with your media player, not because it's from the 80's cd technology. "Climb in my fur." |

Have to pair it with the Black Album since they are intertwined.
3 CD set
-Black Album Remastered
-Lovesexy (White Album) Remastered
-B-sides, remixes & unreleased
4 CD set
-Add a Lovesexy concert to it

I have a few problems with the Lovesexy album and don't love it as much as many here do but the mix quality is way down low on my list.
Whoever said Prince was making "headphone" albums after a fashion was right though and has a point. Time was, I'd buy a new release and pop in my car stereo to get it in my ears on my drive time and then, that night, smoke a bowl and get the headphones going and really soak it in. I loved it. Still do. A LOT of what Prince did with his sound was best experienced in this way but I can say that about a lot of music.

That's a good point too and I honestly think Prince did that on purpose. TBA and Lovesexy make a great double album and it was something he explored on the tour. Again, I think this was intentional, a publicity stunt in some ways and the beginning of him playing games with the traditional way of doing business with record companies.
I mean, if Prince truly thought TBA was "evil" or whatever, why did he incorporate so much of it into his Lovesexy tour set list? He was playing us all and making a statement while still being able to release new shit at the rate he wanted. He generated the most famous and bootleged album of all time by pretending it was the work of spooky electric and that made everyone want to hear it. IMO, he likely wanted to do another double album but after SoTT, knew WB wouldn't go for it so even back then, he did it himself. Prince leaked TBA on his own and MADE it rare.
Brilliant.

Yes. Boxsets is the new trend for all new remastered re-releases. 99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment |
