Weird how the estate is still working with CBS after the hit piece on Kirk.

Do you think the estate owes Kirk loyalty? I don’t know anything about it, but I’ve heard Kirk had a hand in getting drugs. You and Donald Trump need to understand that reporting facts does not equal hit piece. I doubt CBS just made stuff up.

Oh man, we'd almost reached a record number of days for people not crowbarring their political preoccupations in an irrelevant context. I'll reset the counter.

The estate still employs Kirk and he's involved in a number of estate projects.

CBS News dragged him because he refused to give up the dirt on a segment that was suppose to be about the Celebration event. That's all Kirk gave them and they edited down hours of footage to push the narrative they wanted.

And just an FYI, CBS Sunday Morning has their own YouTube channel (who doesn't these days?!) and uploads all that day's CBSSM stories separately, so the video will be on YouTube later Sunday afternoon.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

.

Begun just months before his death, in 2016, a memoir by the legendary singer-songwriter Prince is now being published. Jamie Yuccas reports on how the manuscript by Prince Rogers Nelson came to light, and talks with editor Dan Piepenberg, who helped Prince tell his story, including how the people in Prince's life made him the artist he was. Yuccas also talks with representatives of Prince's estate about the vault of previously-unreleased music that is now being made public.

I can no longer post on the sticky thread about the book? Only Bart is allowed to post his updates? Has anyone else noticed on the sticky thread about the book they can no longer 'reply' to the thread?

I like the author Dan and believe P made the correct choice.

Not sure if I will watch on TV tomorrow, but I wanted to comment in the other thread his description of the vault in the article

https://www.theguardian.c...ps-selfies

was the most descriptive and changed completely how I had been imagining it in my head.

No- one ever described or explained it like Mr. Piepenbring has here (to me.)

Mr. Bream, you sound jealous.

Threads self-lock after 2 months (which is today, actually), and cannot be undone. New stickies have to be made after that to continue a larger topic like the book.

Mr. Bream is far from jealous. He's covered Prince for years, wrote a book about him, likely met him (I forget off hand but I can't imagine he hasn't), has written extensively about him. Jealousy is not part of the equation. He's also written books about Neil Diamond and Led Zeppelin. He's a journalist, not a wannabe musician.

Don't be one of those fans who only reads the glowing reviews and books, and labels anything else critical as "negative" or "jealous." It's juvenile, and you're likely better than that.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

That description of the vault is very revealing. I agree. I’ve never seen it described quite like that.

This did not air yesterday. It was pre-empted by the blow by blow repetitive overkill detailing of the death of Baghdadi. They said they might show the unaired segments in the "coming weeks", but no specifics.

Good Morning America: https://www.youtube.com/w...o&t=2s

CBS Sunday Morning: https://www.youtube.com/w...nZKviAatw8

This is a 2nd upload from Sunday Morning; the original, which was about 20 seconds longer (if memory serves) but has been deleted from their YouTube page. The orange asshole preempted most of the show on the east coast so YouTube was the only way to see it anyway.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

If it's here, I haven't seen it, but here's the author being interviewed on NPR today

https://www.npr.org/2019/...-co-writer

Very telling and listening to it I am more convinced than ever that Prince knew something was wrong with his health. Something wrong beyond the pills I mean.

TheTruth123

Dan Piepenbring is doing an EXCELLENT job of representing (talking about) Prince.

The CBS Interviewer, like some other people who were clueless about Prince, began to take a mocking or laughing or comical sort of attitude about P, but DAN stayed honest and remained serious in the face of that.

He’s doing well by P. 💜

He also knows to stay humble and it looks good on him.
