Dan Piepenbring is doing an EXCELLENT job of representing (talking about) Prince. The CBS Interviewer, like some other people who were clueless about Prince, began to take a mocking or laughing or comical sort of attitude about P, but DAN stayed honest and remained serious in the face of that. He’s doing well by P. 💜 He also knows to stay humble and it looks good on him.

Yes, he gets it. Prince chose well.

Why is no one talking about Bobby Z and that great unreleased tune that he previewed for the Sunday journalist's? That thing sounded great!

Exactly! Is this one of the unreleased tunes coming to us on the Deluxe Edition?

It was unreleased from the tour, it's not a track we've not heard. It's "Do Me, Baby." It's likely from the concert DVD/CD in the set.

Agree.

We won't know for sure, doesn't bother me. A shred of intact privacy.

It doesn't bother me either. It was just a bit out of character for Prince to be so intamite, forthcoming and telling. The over amibition was always there but the more I learn of the things he was doing the last year or two, it felt like it had a new sense of urgency and a certain sense of resignation about it.

"Music is for the young", "Wait a few days until you waste your prayers on me", etc.

It sounds/reads as if he genuinely felt his time was limited and that he needed to get this shit out. NOW.

I could be way off but that's my take. It's also one of several reasons why I think the suicide theories are whack. He seemed to be racing against time in many ways.

I can no longer post on the sticky thread about the book? Only Bart is allowed to post his updates? Has anyone else noticed on the sticky thread about the book they can no longer 'reply' to the thread?

I like the author Dan and believe P made the correct choice.

Not sure if I will watch on TV tomorrow, but I wanted to comment in the other thread his description of the vault in the article

https://www.theguardian.c...ps-selfies

was the most descriptive and changed completely how I had been imagining it in my head.

No- one ever described or explained it like Mr. Piepenbring has here (to me.)

Man I sure would like if any parents/kids had any memories of Prince babysitting...

It's a live version of "Do Me, Baby" from the "1999 Deluxe" set.

If it's here, I haven't seen it, but here's the author being interviewed on NPR today

Very telling and listening to it I am more convinced than ever that Prince knew something was wrong with his health. Something wrong beyond the pills I mean.

Yes. I've been saying this for years now.

Most won't come forward out of respect to his wishes, but I'm sure someone will eventually and say what was going on outside of the pain killers. His death was a tragic accident that was the result of exaserbating circumstances.

While reading the book I can feel the urgency as well...even his handwriting has a forceful, locomotive feel; beautiful but almost illegible. I agree he is intimate and chatty as if he tossed aside the 'mysterious persona' of the past in favor of the real person because it no longer serves a purpose

and time is limited.

I laughed, then thought for a minute, naaaah.
I still think his recent to last telephone TV wardrobe relationship

is funny as heck.

I'm backwards and just watched the CBS clip now. The part with Bobby Z was my fav, I had a flashback as he was talking and thought: remember when we used to hang out and watch TV together, with your friends? Completely brought it back/ 80's MN, what it was like.

I appreciate the book, and seeing more of Paisley Park in this video from CBS.
