Warner Bros and the estate treats fans well

Y'all, we have it so good. If Prince were any other artist, we would already have a DUETS cd where he is paired with today's pop stars taking over a verse of his music.

"Little Red Corvette" featuring Shawn Mendes- where he changes the line about Jockeys to Calvin Kleins just to tie in his endorsement. Production by Chainsmokers.

"Kiss" featuring rapper Saweetie- but only after it was already released as a commercial for her lip gloss line. Wendy's part is replaced by DJ Mustard on synth.

"My Name Is Prynce" featuring rapper Cyhi The Prynce. Nothing kept from the original except Prince saying "Hurt me" and the chorus.

Give them time. They don't care about consumers. They just want their money.

Why is it so difficult to upload an avatar?

i thought WB DIDNT have unreleased songs in their vault besides the ones from PR deluxe....so the estate partnered with WB by adding vault tracks to 1999 remastered???

I know a lot of people are complaining about the releases we've got. After all, I'm one of them. When Piano & Microphone was announced I was so disappointed. But it could be worse. Look at how Sony and The MJ Estate have handled Michael Jackson's unreleased recordings. MJ has actual, finished songs that have never been released but Sony have taken a bunch of demos, remixed them and put them out as "new" albums. It's a disgrace. At least with Prince, we're getting SOME good stuff. Half of Originals was really good and the 1999 Deluxe set may be missing some big songs but it still has some decent material included.

That MJ stuff is a perfect example of how to piss fans off.

I don't know their dealings. I am just saying I appreciate that whoever is releasing this deluxe editions aren't remixing his stuff. Hell, they won't let Jimmy Jam touch these releases.

Another post-humous project that pisses fans off is THE HOLOGRAM! They are not putting a Prince hologram on tour. Lord knows he filmed enough concerts that it could be done very quickly!

We had better support these albums coming out or they will wonder if we want his hologram on tour.

So many voices all wanting so many different things, from the various associates to corporate to family to fans, can't be easy. Right now I'm just looking forward to the books.

Heck David Bowie's Estate has no problem releasing box sets. We've got some new stuff from George Michael's Estate too.

The people releasing this stuff for the Prince Estate is moving at a snails pace. BUT I'm glad we are FINALLY getting some stuff.

I agree - they've done a pretty good job as far as I am concerned. Sure, we all would like the pace to pick up, but it's understandable that legal issues would cause delays. But I'm pretty pleased with what we've gotten so far - there hasn't been a single misstep as a whole, IMO. Sure, there are some issues (for example, the drop-out during "Computer Blue (Hallway)" and the beginning of the extended "Erotic City" on PR Deluxe), but on the whole I'm happy.

I think this year especially has been great, with Originals being jaw-droppingly good, and the 1999 super deluxe being as substantial as we could have hoped for.

Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Let'a celebrate his legacy by counting down the most beloved Prince albums, as decided by you!

Considering the fact Alfred sold 90% of his expected inheritance to Primary Wave we may be getting a duet CD.

Not performing those atrocities does not yet mena they are 'treating fans well'.

Where's the booklets like e.g. accompanying the Rubberband release by Miles? (postproduction... :-/)

Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.
