The 4 songs they say will be on it are:

1. Jerk Out 82 version

2. Lust U Always

3. Something In The Water (Does Not Compute) - Alternate version

4. Extraloveable original version

How come u don't call me anymore extended version cf Mc Creary Peggy Interview [Edited 8/2/19 8:08am]

I´ve lose all hope in listening to really new material if Sony in 2021 changes the way of doing things ... if there is going to be the same amount of songs as in PR DELUXE ...nothing to expect my predictions:

6. No Call U

7. Purple Music

8. Yah, U K now

9. Don´t Let Him Fool Ya

10. If It´ll Make U Happy

11. Little Red Corvette (Alternate Take)

what about those songs that nobody had heard talk ?
On the other hand I am tired of the material Prince gave to other artists sung by him (Originals it´s a disappointment to me) ... not to mention the frankestein mixes (outrageous)...
What more conservative minds resorting to things already edited or highly bootleged that the FANS have already heard ... there is no NEW material? I think this is quite far from the Prince mentality (regarding what Michael Howe says in the interviews) if he were alive ... because normally he was throwing unheard material.

[Edited 8/2/19 8:52am]

I completely disagree with this line of thinking. I want to get official releases of circulating songs I have loved for years. Having them in better quality would be awesome. “Purple Music”? The piano version of “Something in the Water”? “Extraloveable”? “Lust U Always”? “No Call U”? “Do Yourself a Favor”? Yes, please!
Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Let'a celebrate his legacy by counting down the most beloved Prince albums, as decided by you!

.

Also, why would Warners suddenly release another album this year?

.

Oh, and the interview with Michael Howe wasn't with a Dutch magazine, it was with Humo, a Belgian magazine.

Thank you.
And why can't people WRITE anymore? I'm so bored with rambling, self-congratulatory podcasts when I could read the information in two minutes.

There is already so much coming out in the fall; why would the estate want everything to crash into each other in a period of two months.
Randee St James, Morris Day and (of course) Prince all have books coming out in October.

Welcome to "the org", laytonian… come bathe with me.

That would be nice. A 1999 deluxe edition wouldn't have been my first choice, but I really hope the set includes Strange Way, Do Yourself A Favor & Extraloveable.

.

Personally I think we shouldn't get out hopes up about Extraloveable. All that has been confirmed is that that two of the tracks were "sexually daring". Let's face it, that could be anything.

I reckon one of them is an early version of Purple & Gold with golden showers references, in that case.

My bad... There was a part i was having a hard time understanding, at first I thought it was the accent but then realized it was a bad edit and they cut it before finishing the sentence.

If there's no press release about this by the end of this month, there's no way it'll be released this year.

.

Warner seem to be releasing one album per year pretty consistently. 4Ever (2016), Purple Rain Deluxe (2017), Piano & A Microphone 1983 (2018), Originals (2019). I highly doubt their will be another Prince release before Christmas. It’s too close to Originals. Don’t get me wrong, I’d be extremely happy if they did.

We also get the rerelease of Chaos and Disorder, TVE, and Emancipation. I would think they would post pone 1999 deluxe sad.

99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment

The time they decide when they will release 1999, Michael Howe would find something in the vault they would want to release first. Etc
.
I would rather bet on 1983 live at first avenue release first.
And then, Originals 2 lol
.
Warner pushed back 1999 deluxe already two times. They really doesn't think there is so much hype in rereleasing an album that had already low catalogue sales for decades, and that is barely unknown in Europe.

Nonsense.Prince's 1999 album sold over 6 million copies worldwide. It was actually the fifth best-selling album of 1983.I think you're confusing it with another album?

I think you don't know what catalogue sales means.
It means sales frim two years after the release.
80% of the sales of 1999 comes from the USA.
It sold only 900.000 copies in Europe. At the time of its initial release, none of the singles of the album charted in Europe, and the album was completely ignored.

Actually 1999 is the second largest selling Prince album, surpassing the sales of Diamonds & Pearls. 1999 has sold over 7 million world wide.

1999 sold 6.5 millions worldwide, 80% of it in the US.
D&P sold more.
.
Outside the US, 1999 is not a cult/classic album.
It s been 2 years there are are numerous topics about 1999 deluxe...And every year, WB decides there are better material instead to release.
.
So you all must be cautious when you re saying this is the next release. For when? Autumn 2020? From then on, the live at first avenue will surely be remasterized and ready to release.

From all reports, First Ave 83 has been done since before Purple Rain Deluxe was released and the documentary Apple created is also completed.

There's a definite log jam in terms of material/possible releases.

Whatever it's decided to be released next will likely sell the same...my opinion. Don't think it matters if it's 1999 or Parade Deluxe...wish they released some concerts or aftershocks from the 80s...

Ok I just checked the most recent most accurate sales figures, you are correct, D&P is still the second largest selling Prince album with 7.1 million sales world wide. However 1999 is at 7.0 million sales world wide, not 6.5.

So his 3 top selling albums in order are:

1. Purple Rain

2. Diamonds & Pearls

3. 1999

You re talking about Charmasters estimations.
But he put 5.4 millions copies (!) In the US while this is unrealistic.
.
1999 was certified 3*PLATINUM in July 1985. So the sales due to the Purple Craze were also included in this certification.
.
In 1992, Entertainment weekly published a figure of 5 millions worldwide.
.
In march of 1999, it was certified 4*P.
So it took 14 years to sell one million more, in an era where records sold by millions.
.
From 1991 to 2018 it sold 950.000 copies according to Soundscan.
.
So in fact, 1999 is more near the 4.7 millions figure than an insane 5.4 millions that can't be proved and does not link official figures.

We really don't know 100% what sold what, and to be honest even the RIAA certifications are all outdated and haven't been certified, we just have estimates, unless everything is to be audited, which it will never will.

Purple Rain was last certified in 1996 at 13 Million, we all know it has surpassed that.

1999 was certified 4 Million in 1999, that is in the U.S. alone. It's possible 1999 stands at 7 million world wide now, it is also possible it stands at 6, we will never know will we?

The Very Best of Prince is at least 3 Million by now in USA, but has only been certified 1 million, if TVBOP was recertified in USA it would make it his 3rd biggest selling album of all time in USA.

There are thousands of unreleased songs in the vault, probably close to 90% of which dont exist on Princevault. You guys truly want deluxe packages of existing stuff or live concerts over getting a CD of 15 tracks you never heard of before?

I don't know about you guys, but if they keep focusing on already released stuff, none of us will be able to hear all the unreleased stuff in our lifetimes. I would much rather unreleased songs than live or reissued albums. Live stuff can be found all over the place and the albums we already have.
