Prince Emancipation 6LP

First wave: https://www.legacyrecordi...e-project/ -- "Three essential full-length Prince albums, Musicology, 3121 and Planet Earth, will be available on CD and – for the first time ever – on vinyl beginning Friday, February 8, 2019."

Second wave: https://www.legacyrecordi...pril-26-2/ -- "the next round of physical titles set for release as part of the ongoing and definitive Prince catalog project. Next up will be Prince’s Ultimate Rave on Friday, April 26."

So this will likely be the third wave. Keep an eye on https://www.legacyrecordings.com/ and https://www.prnewswire.co...-releases/ for possible announcements.

As a collector I need to let this sink in a bit!

C&D on vinyl will be nice.

Many people said Versace had sound issues which won't go down well with fans on vinyl.

A six disc set of Emancipation is overkill.

In this wave I would rather have had CD and vinyl editions of the digital only releases such as; Chocolate Invasion, Slaughterhouse, NEWS and Xpectation.

Sony Legacy are quickly running out of options as there aren't many more they can release!

Oh well.

Oddly not many people bought it first time around when discounted to $5 so I feel not many people, other than hardcore collectors like me, will pay for a 6 disc box set. I imagine it will be packaged like 4Ever.

I'm not a big fan of NEWS. But official CDs of Chocolate Invasion, Slaughterhouse & Xpectation would be a very welcome addition to my collection.

Yeah, yeah, true, true, no outtakes for the forseeable future. Should have thought about it for two more seconds. I do think something more like the Rave release (with the release of the TGRES single) should be the aim. What would expanding that approach look like? Rereleasing old emancipation singles like Face Down and NYC would be cool. And that should be possible, no? Since they've already been released?
