Probably my least favorite Camille song. A certain kind of mellow.

Should've been the A-side.

You have to admit...there's not a lot different in the long stroke as opposed to the short stroke. It's my least favorite extended version, along with the long version of "A Lonely Christmas".
There's just not much there that's different musically. [Edited 8/20/19 15:49pm]

I really feel this could be argued for 95% of Prince's "extended" mixes. I enjoy a nice long song now and then, but a lot of them got the point across in under/around ~3-4 mins.

A lot of his later extended mixes just devolved into repetitive funk jams with a shit ton of horns that totally lose the original song. LRC extended mix fucking rules though. A certain kind of mellow.

Oh, man, those friggin' horns. If I could had just one wish to omit just one thing from Prince's oevure.

Both are equal enough | |

. He pretty much stopped extended mixes after Diamonds & Pearls. What extended mixes are you talking about? . As far as horns though... I love that Come/Old Friends 4 Sale/Gold era. The (unreleased) long version of Billy Jack Bitch is just great. They brought me somewhat back to him, those horns. . I do have a fondness for the first version of Feel U Up, I don't think the Camille remake is one of the stronger Camille tracks. But long stroke all the way. In most cases, the long versions are the versions that let the tracks breathe more. I mostly prefer the longer tracks. Oddly enough, to me, the LRC mix is one of his weaker ones. He didn't quite know how to do it and keep it interesting. He mastered it with the Parade tracks, imo. Kiss, Mountains and Anotherlover all are just exquisite in the long versions. Kiss with the madness, Mountains with the marvelous jazzy groove and the funk being brought out more in Anotherlover... Paisley Park is in your heart - Love Is Here!

Amen to the longer versions being kick ass! La La La He..., Gett Off, Thieves in the Temple, Another Lover, Kiss, She's Always in..., Mountains, even the long versions of tracks on the 1999 album that he put on there...make him that much more interesting of an artist!
