I think a lot of people would argue that this is the best promoted Prince release for years, e.g. the amount of coverage in the press (see all the links Bart and a few others have highlighted) and various associate artist interviews. I agree Frankie. Here in Edinburgh, Scotland. I seen it advertised on bus stops. All the media, print , digital and telivisin reviwed it and it was mostly positive.

I was surpriaed that it wasd 'visible'. And delighted.

The Deluxe edition actually had great 1st week world wide sales, believe it sold 93-95k in it's first week.

And what does that mean?? That means it should have sold tons more, lets face it this is where his sales will be from now on. Sorry to break the news to all but if his "new album" at the time of his death "Phase 2" saw no spike in sales do you really think the interest in anything is there now? Originals is not a big seller because it is selling a bit to his base, and sorry to say this is where any remasters will also, in fact I think remasters if done for albums like Parade or 1999 will sell even less, Piano and a Mic was here and gone and SO will anything new if ever released. Not sure what world people are living in where Prince is going to sell Gold again, you are all living in the days when music sold. Time to let it go.

Week 5 proper...Re enters on the Billboard 200 at 94 this week. Up to 9 on the pure sales chart and number 2 on Tastemakers chart( not a ferking clue)Sales to date around 40000 pure. Incidentally the best selling acual sale this week is Ed Sheeran with less than 17000 physical...

Originals additionally debuts on the Billboard Vinyl Albums sales chart at #2, just behind the new (and much cheaper) Thom Yorke album. Purple Rain also returns to #25 on that chart.

Also how does this compare to the sales of the Piano & A Microphone. It seems odd that for so much promotion on Originals 4ever and Piano seemed to have outsold Originals by a lot...

325.000 views now! . I think it s six days since it was released the 25th of July, IIRC. . But anyway, this is a better start than Manic Monday which is now stuck under the 500k views, with only 3000 views/ a day, whereas it is a well known song. . The huge problem with Manic Monday is that it takes 20 blank seconds to start. This is ridiculously too long for the average viewer, especially when you want to make playlists. . Holly Rock is a huge improvement, something that is more easily shareable. Something that we are not ashamed of, unlike rehearsals in poor quality and not related at all to the songs. . 240.00 views for Sex Shooter is not bad at all neither...With a music video it could have been far better. I think Originals is great, and how was P&M a "commerical" release?

And the Estate needs to make money to keep releasing stuff and to keep Paisley Park open.

Why isn't Holly Rock the default video on the Prince youtube channel instead of Manic Monday? It should pass it on total plays by the end of the day.
